(07-08) 18:54 PDT LOS ANGELES, (AP) --

Democratic candidate for governor Jerry Brown on Thursday dismissed a poll showing his Republican opponent gaining ground among Hispanic voters, saying it was merely the result of a misleading media campaign from rival Meg Whitman.

"You can put up your billboards and put stuff in Spanish on television, but the people aren't fooled," Brown said during a news conference at California State University, Los Angeles.

From the article:

"The hard line that Wilson and other Republican leaders took on illegal immigration during the 1990s has been blamed for driving Latino voters away from the GOP in California."

and

"A segment of the Latino electorate will swing with the majority vote, whichever way it goes, said Harry Pachon, president of the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute at the University of Southern California.

"'Roots of partisan attachment don't run deep in the Latino population,' Pachon said. 'There are a lot of new voters who are naturalized citizens. Some don't know who Cesar Chavez is.'"

Cesar Chavez was a union leader who opposed to illegal immigration because he knew it allowed employers to keep wages artificially low. Unlike today's union leaders who don't give a damn about the workers they "represent", and only care about accumulating power and pushing a Marxist agenda.

“I’m the pro-amnesty candidate!” Then, the other one says, “No! I’m the pro-amnesty candidate!” Some debate-not! If only the majority of non-leftist voters throughout California would really vote for Chelene Nightingale, instead, please!

“Some don’t know who Cesar Chavez is.” Probably don’t know who “Governor Moonbeam” (Rayo de la Luna) is either, but Meg will make sure they find out.

Meg is a RINO (former supporter of Babs Boxer) but I get Schadenfreude from watching her flushing Brown.

It won't surprise me in the least when California elects Brown again and when they do they will get exactly what they deserve.....
