Shooter Walks Free As Police Tackle, Arrest AR-15 August 12th, 2019 LOS ANGELES, CA—There was an attempted shooting earlier today but luckily, the police were close by. They managed to tackle the shooter's AR-15 to the floor. They pinned it to the ground and kicked it a few times for good measure, though it did not appear to be resisting arrest. Bewildered, the shooter shrugged and slowly backed away. "Honestly I was kinda hoping to make a name for myself," he told reporters later. "But they just blamed the gun. So... well, I guess I won't be famous after all."...

Hospitals feed cancer patients sugar and high carbohydrate diets for a simple reason: they are abysmally ignorant of the role of nutrition in health and disease — hence their burgeoning growth, packed rooms, and ‘return customers.’ Even though the science itself shows – at least since the mid-20’s with Otto Warburg’s cancer hypothesis — that tumors prefer to utilize sugar fermentation to produce energy rather than the much more efficient oxygen-based phosphorylation* – hospitals have actually invited corporations like McDonald’s to move into their facilities to ‘enhance’ their patient’s gustatory experience, presumably to provide comfort and take the edge off...

Dr. Drew Pinsky, a California-based physician who now hosts a talk radio show, correctly predicted the current typhus outbreak in Los Angeles about 18 months ago. Now he is sounding the alarm about a potential outbreak of the bubonic plague in the Los Angeles area, saying that unless conditions change quickly and drastically, Southern California will be dealing with a horrific epidemic. The last outbreak of the bubonic plague, ironically, was in the 1920’s in Los Angeles. Yersinia pestis, the organism that causes the plague, is endemic to the valleys Southern California and comes down through the foothills on squirrels...

Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman has been following the Jeffrey Epstein case very closely and he reports that as early as the next few days, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will release approximately 2,000 pages of documents. According to the court’s three-judge panel, the documents will implicate “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders.” Attorney David Boies, who represents Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, told Sherman the documents were filed during a civil defamation lawsuit brought by Giuffre, a former Mar-a-Lago locker-room attendant, against Epstein’s former girlfriend...

Putting the "wimpy" 30 carbine to the test. In this video, Paul Harrell takes a close look at the US M1 Carbine, that handy and fast-handling short rifle that was adopted specifically to replace the 1911 in its role as a smaller alternative to a full-size battle rifle. After a short intro, he begins by talking about the power (or lack thereof) of the 30 carbine cartridge, which is a diminutive round about the length of a 357 magnum, but considerably smaller in diameter. This brings to mind a conversation I had with my father nearly 40 years ago. We...

Anti-gunners got nowhere. Gun Owners of America (GOA) is saying pro-gun forces have won a victory in the state of Virginia. After warning early last month that anti-gun people in government were pushing for gun control in the wake of crimes at Virginia Beach, they recently sent out an email proclaiming success. "Governor Ralph “Blackface” Northam tried to exploit the Virginia Beach shooting by calling an emergency legislative session to pass radical gun control bills. But, powered by grassroots defenders of our God-given rights like you, we pressured the Virginia House and Senate to protect the Second Amendment… …And gun...

The Senate Judiciary Committee intends to vote on the CASE Act, legislation that would create a brand new quasi-court for copyright infringement claims. We have expressed numerous concerns with the legislation, and serious problems inherent with the bill have not been remedied by Congress before moving it forward. In short, the bill would supercharge a “copyright troll” industry dedicated to filing as many “small claims” on as many Internet users as possible in order to make money through the bill’s statutory damages provisions. Every single person who uses the Internet and regularly interacts with copyrighted works (that’s everyone) should contact...

How to avoid a revolution In this six-minute video, Paul Harrell talks — sorry, no shooting other than when he tosses the “bird” to YouTube — about Independence Day and freedom of speech among other things. He opens with a sentiment I’ve long held, which is that calling Independence Day by another name (“Fourth of July,” “The Fourth,” etc) is not right because it dilutes the meaning of the holiday. At least, that’s where I expected him to go with it… instead he notes sensibly that if Independence Day were celebrated on the same day of the week each year...

The U.S. Hispanic population surged another 1.2 million last year and now is a record 59.9 million, according to newly released U.S. Census Bureau population estimates. The percentage of Hispanics as part of the overall U.S. population also jumped to 18%. A Pew Research Center analysis of the new data also found that between 2008 and 2018, “Latinos accounted for about half (52%) of all U.S. population growth over this period.” The largest growth area for Hispanics was the South, at 33% since 2008. That includes Texas and Florida. Every region in the U.S. saw growth. And there were areas...

Kiwis are standing by their guns. Citizens of New Zealand are reportedly resisting the sweeping ban on semi-automatic firearms thrust upon them by an emotional parliament last April. The Washington Post’s article is predictably poorly-titled: “New Zealand is trying to buy back the military-style weapons it banned in April. It’s not so easy.” Firstly, no entity can buy “back” something which it never owned before. The government has never owned these firearms which it seeks to steal from their rightful owners. They are merely offering a bribe to those who comply. Secondly, none of the guns are “military-style.” Being black...

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 19-year-old who attempted to rob a fireworks stand in north Harris County ended up getting shot in the face with his own gun by one of the stand's employees, according to deputies. It happened off of the North Freeway and Airtex Drive around 4 p.m. Thursday. Preliminary indications are that a fireworks stand employee managed to take possession of the would-be robber’s pistol and shot him with it. Investigation is ongoing. #hounews — HCSOTexas (@HCSOTexas) July 4, 2019 According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the suspect approached the stand and began demanding money....

If you want to talk about an anti-gun state, the first place that will pop up every time is California. It’s the most anti-gun state in the country; a title lawmakers wear with perverse pride. More than that, it’s continually pushing for more and more gun control despite the failure of all the measures it already has on the books. Additionally, Californian ideas often spread like a virus to other places. But one good idea has been imported to the state. California has some of the strongest gun-control laws in the nation. One little city in the Golden State has...

I stayed up through the night last night to watch South Korea's coverage of the G20, President Trump and President Moon's Summit in S. Korea immediately after the G20, and the historic meeting at the DMZ with our President and Chm Kim. For the first time in history a U.S. PRESIDENT was invited to step foot over the DMZ and enter North Korea! The People of S. Korea were in such hopeful anticipation of that possibility as expressed by one of the news anchors who said if nothing but that face to face with Kim Jung Un and a hello...

Giant Tarantulas Are Invading Texas By The Thousands This Summer Everything is bigger in Texas – even the bugs. While it’s no secret that summer brings lots of critters out of the woodwork here in the hot, humid Lone Star State, the eight-legged variety will be especially populous. It’s mating season for the Texas Brown Tarantula, a large arachnid that lays up to 1,000 eggs at a time. C’mon, we know you want to see: Over 1200 different species of tarantula can be found all across earth's Southern Hemisphere. Named after the Southern Italian town of Taranto, the somewhat ambiguous...

Republican congressman Mike Rogers revealed the Democrat plan to hand the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processing centers at the border over to the United Nations. Rogers pointed out a barely-noticed provision in a recent Democrat bill that makes it abundantly clear how the Democrats plan to globalize our country once and for all. “Another provision they have in their bill offers a two-year pilot program to let the UN take over our CBP processing centers instead of us doing it,” Rep. Mike Rogers stated.

A worthy successor to the classic Colt Hammerless. Smith & Wesson Shield 380ex fills the vital but oft-neglected category of “guns as personal effects” which also includes cell phones, pocket flashlights, small folding umbrellas and other useful items that anyone can use effectively. This design bucks the trend of fitting more and more powerful cartridges into increasingly small and light weapons in favor of moderate performance allied to high usability. This approach can be traced back to the Browning-designed Colt Hammerless 1903 model (32ACP) and the later 1908 (380ACP). The two variants were streamlined, thin and (for the time) lightweight...

On summer's opening day, up to 20 inches of snow buried the high terrain of the Colorado Rockies, boosting the state's snowpack to extraordinary levels for the time of year. The solstice flakes marked a continuation of a snowy stretch that began in January and February and lingered through spring. Even before the solstice snow, The Denver Post wrote, the state's snowpack was "in virtually every numerical sense . . . off the charts." At the time, the snowpack was 751 percent above normal. Due to the new snow Friday into the weekend, the Natural Resources Conservation Service reported that...

New Laws Will Take Effect on September 1 New Laws Will Take Effect on September 1 Governor Greg Abbott has now signed all of the NRA-supported legislation which the Texas Legislature sent him during the 2019 session. Thank you to pro-Second Amendment leaders and lawmakers in the House and Senate for their work to ensure passage of these measures. Here is the list of NRA-backed bills which will become law on September 1: House Bill 121 by Rep. Valoree Swanson (R-Spring) & Sen. Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe) provides a legal defense for License To Carry holders who unknowingly enter establishments with...
