The U.S. Hispanic population surged another 1.2 million last year and now is a record 59.9 million, according to newly released U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.
The percentage of Hispanics as part of the overall U.S. population also jumped to 18%.
A Pew Research Center analysis of the new data also found that between 2008 and 2018, “Latinos accounted for about half (52%) of all U.S. population growth over this period.”
The largest growth area for Hispanics was the South, at 33% since 2008. That includes Texas and Florida.
Every region in the U.S. saw growth.
And there were areas of historic growth not typically associated with Latinos, including North Dakota.
Said Pew, “The states with the fastest Hispanic population growth tend to have relatively small Hispanic populations – and are not in the South. North Dakota’s Hispanic population grew by 135% between 2008 and 2018 – from 12,600 to 29,500, the fastest growth rate of any state. However, the state ranked 49th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia in its overall Hispanic population in 2018. Hispanic populations in South Dakota (75%), the District of Columbia (57%), Montana (55%) and New Hampshire (50%) also experienced rapid growth during this period, though all have relatively small Hispanic populations.”
This is horrifying.
I grew up with a lot of Cuban friends in Miami in the 70s and 80s. Therefore, I am inclined actually to like your better class of Latin people. Most of my Cuban friends were as white as I am — pure Spaniard — or so lightly mixed as not to matter.
These border jumpers are not like them. Not like them at all. They are a barbarian horde come to despoil our great country.

I worked at the Virginia Beach ,VA oceanfront on July 4th. There were so many “Mexicans”,(I’m suret there were other nationalities), there you would have thought you were in Mexico.
60 Million is more likely the number of illegals in this country. Ten or so years the accepted number was 35 million, then overnight it was changed to 11 million and has remained there ever since.
Republicans want the cheap labor and the Democrats want to harvest votes. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Not necessarily. Hispanics don't vote as a hard bloc like the blacks do.
Gov should know how many are legal due to issuance of green cards, visas, etc.
Subtract to get illegals. Reduce state representation in congress accordingly.

I don’t mind Hispanics, but I recall a time when they did not mind me.
That may be true for legal and assimilated Hispanics, but not for illegals. When they can get away with it, they all vote for Dems.
Why else do you think the Dems support open borders?
Exactly correct and why in polls a majority of most Hispanic citizens are against open borders and easy paths to citizenship.
What is somewhat interesting is that blacks, who have been used by the dems as a party prop for at least 75 years, are beginning to feel that the dems are moving toward favoring latinos over them “because they are a larger group”. Racial politics could end up biting them in the ass because they cannot afford to lose 10-20% of that base support. IMO, Harris is slotted for P and perhaps “Beto” don't be surprised if he does not show up as a VP. Warren, Steyer, Biden....too white but not to worry from the dems perspective as they will get a good deal of the womyn vote, the queers, 90% of blacks and they hope 50% of hispanic vote which is possible if they get enough of the alien horde registered. All IMO.
I read last night that Hispanics are now earning more than Blacks. Didn’t know that.
The Dems are salivating buckets. Their voter base is increasing.
This will NOT improve life in the USA. Shame on our worthless Congress for caving to the cheap labor lobbies that buy their votes with campaign cash.
