Billionaire Elon Musk criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for its response to the deadly hurricane ravaging several U.S. states.
In a tweet, Musk accused FEMA of purposely withholding aid from residents in need and “actively blocking” Starlink satellite internet deliveries to damaged areas hit by the storm after receiving a notice from the company’s engineer is “actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own.”
“FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!" Musk wrote on X.
The billionaire called it “scary” how much FEMA has “taken control” and stopped helping people who have lost nearly everything in the storm.
“We are blocked now on the shipments of new Starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. But that may not be enough,” Musk continued.
He exposed the agency by posting a text message between himself and the engineer, who claimed that FEMA was attempting to “shut down the airspace to regulate the private choppers” that were delivering the shipments.
CERTAINLY is window into what Kamala’s administration would also do.
Thanks for keeping this subject in the foreground, Lightman!
I suspect this is why the climate change channel (also known as the weather channel) Justin Michaels, is reading a script in an interviews with former NASCAR driver, turned helicopter pilot to challenge the narrative ...
Musk opened a direct call and dialogue on X with the limp wristed Secty of Transportation Pete Boodyjig who denied that FAA was impeding SAR and aid delivery. That guy has been about as useful in his position as a bicycle to a fish.
Circumstantial death camps. Examine the work product, not the Public Relations media releases to the masses.
Do we really need a FEMA? The military has the equipment and is prepositioned to go to war.
The military has helicopters and MRE’s.
To know NASCAR is to know each team has their own fleet of aircraft. They all used to be based in Charlotte, but moved to Concord, NC in the late 90’s. Mostly decent folks.
Posse comitatus can be a hindrance but also saves us from a would-be dictatorship establishing martial law.
The ‘word’ is out about Musk blaming FEMA, etc. and the dutiful climate change apostles are attempting to muddy the proverbial waters.
“bicycle to a fish”
Nicely done ;-) Never heard/read that one prior.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) embezzled billions of dollars to give to Criminal Illegals
“Government Do Something” is how we got the ginormous federal government that intrudes into every aspect of our lives while recording and storing for later use every thing that we say or do electronically.
All we really need is competent adult leadership that is capable of organizing a complex task force and coordinated response of all levels of govt plus local resources to respond to each unique disaster p
Trump, Vance, Musk, Navarro, Kushner, DeSantis, Pompeo….
If the Jackasses running Biden/Harris FEMA had been in charge of Dunkirk, the Brits would be speaking German
Do you have a link to that, by any chance?
AND generators AND communications AND transportation AND bridges AND...AND...AND...
What troubles me is that there is ONE person responsible for deploying the NC National Guard...and that the establishment is ‘fact checking’ claims to the contrary re Gov Coopers deployment of - wait for it - 175 troops.
The video report below highlights a single unit of 16 soldiers
Best that I can find: There are ‘over 1000 NCNG troops’ activated for the relief effort from over 20k members.
Pathetic, in a word. But Ok. Devil’s advocate: Perhaps the devastation is so widespread that the NCNG has seen its capabilities significantly compromised.
How many troops did Cooper request of the harris/xiden admin?
Only 1000. That’s battalion strength for an entire state.
FEMA should be coordinating with NG troops on the ground, yet somehow Cooper is avoiding all the criticism.
WHY?
Oh, one little detail escaped scrutiny until I looked it up:
Gov Roy Cooper (D)
who is also beholden to his masters

A federal government agency response to anything under any administration is to fill the hotels with staff far enough away that there is comfort. The next is for there to be enough caterers, restaurants, bars, and such, to stage and hold meetings on the next meeting, and to do a diversity analysis. Then the media attends their PowerPoint conference on acronyms to silky walk about.
Calling on the Feds to help is start to all of our problems.
During my last two years in the army (98-00) I was assigned to an Army Readiness Group, which are/were small regular army units scattered around the US. The primary mission was training assistance and evaluation of Reserve and National Guard units in a specified geographic area.
A secondary mission was to serve as the defense coordinating element (DCE) with FEMA in the event of a federal disaster declaration for the region.
In theory, in the event of a federal disaster, we would have fallen in with a FEMA command center and been the liaison for Department of Defense assets, I.e. helicopters, MREs, bulldozers, bridging assets, decontamination teams, water purification units, etc., whatever was needed for a given emergency. The DOD relief efforts would have been just one slice of a much larger pie of federal agencies (as well as state and local governments) responding to a federal disaster zone. FEMA itself, was primarily an organization for coordinating and organizing relief efforts, funding allocation, etc. As the name implies, "emergency management."
So in theory, yes a "FEMA," is necessary because there are a lot of things that fall outside of DOD's bailiwick and expertise. In practice; however, it appears that in the current relief efforts, they are devoid of competence in their primary function, and maliciously using their power and authority for furthering political ends.
