The news that has broken about Obama's "favorite" aunt living in public housing in Boston and now the revelation that she has been in this country illegally for the last four years raises a number of questions. First, how can the "compassionate one" fail to lift a finger to help his own blood relatives (in addition to his "favorite" aunt his brother living in abject poverty in Kenya)? Second, why is an illegal immigrant allowed to receive government subsidies by living in public housing and has she received other forms of government assistance? Third, why isn’t there some kind of...

Local Tennessee conservative talker Steve Gill has revealed yet another example of the hypocrisy of the Global Warming fanatics, especially Al Gore. The former veep, who last year was revealed to have a house in Nashville burning many times the electricity of the average American family, has recently bought a huge houseboat to enjoy summer boating in Tennessee. The houseboat that Gore has christened the "Bio-Solar One" (conveniently shortened by Gill to the BS-1) is pictured at this web site (http://www.gillreport.com/dn_archive.php) Perhaps someone with better editing skills than I have can get the picture and post it here. From the...

I am trying to build my reference file on articles about the President's National Guard service. I know (and have read) articles from the 2000 election cycle that reviewed this topic and exonerated Pres. Bush of the exagerrated charges against him. As I remember there were good articles from the NY Times, Boston Globe and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, though there were probably others as well. Can anyone provide a link or links to any of these original articles? Thanks in advance!

The attempted robbery suspect was already subdued when Metro police arrived on the scene; he also was naked and bound with duct tape.

The treatment was courtesy of two men, a store employee and a truck driver making a delivery, who overpowered the would-be robber yesterday at the Dollar General store at 3852 Dickerson Pike, police said.

We need some research help to deal with what we believe is a flat misstatement of the facts. In a recent exchange my brother was told, "...that the US spends 0.1% (1/1000th) of its total national income (as measured by GDP) on foreign aid, which is by far the the lowest of the 22 members of the OECD. The UK and Ireland are not far ahead on 0.32% and 0.33% (11th and 9th of the 22, respectively)." We find it hard to believe that this could be true and were trying to find sources to straighten this out. We welcome...

The military forces of the United States of America are currently involved in both open and covert operations in Afghanistan. In the wake of Sept.11, some soldiers are providing security at airports and government buildings in our own country. Others are already in place on foreign soil to carry out our president’s mandate to root out terrorist groups. Some have died already in service to our country, and others surely will give their lives over the next few weeks, months, and years. I would not be so presumptuous as to speak for anyone else or for this church, but ...

On yesterday afternoon's Phil Valentine Show (WLAC-1510 AM in Nashville, TN) a caller raised the question of whether or not a President Bush would constitutionally have the right to pardon President Clinton. I missed what the caller himself said but heard the summary of it discussed later. I thought that is this was true then it would, indeed, be good news for those of us who feel that Clinton should not be able to skate free of the legal consequences of his misdeeds. I pulled out my copy of the constitution and began to read it in an effort to ...

It's deja vu -- Democrats named Al and Joe during its 1928 convention too Mark D. Baker 08-26-2000 JACKSONVILLE It lived through the Great Depression, sitting on a farm fence, collecting dust during the Dust Bowl days of Oklahoma. It weathered the storm of 1950s-era McCarthyism, but that was easy, for it was tucked away in Grandpa Clendenin’s carport, until Uncle Sam whisked it away and stuck it in his closet. Now, 72 years after it was born, it sits on the wall in the bottom floor of Monty Clendenin’s split-level home — a rusted, skinny moniker of a license ...

Gore's Slum House Just who's to blame for this domestic nightmare? By Walter Jowers CARTHAGE--It's a story as bizarre as any Hunter Thompson road trip. Five months before the presidential election, Al Gore is doing his best to convince voters that he's the guy to hold the keys to the Free World's nukes and to replace retiring Supreme Court justices. Then, boom, he's accused of being completely stumped in the face of an overflowing toilet and peeling paint. How does this happen? First, a little background: About three weeks ago, Gore's tenant, Tracy Mayberry, started complaining about her torn-up ...

Al Gore boasts that he created the Internet, and that he was a farmhand who slopped hogs, drove mules, and cleared land--by hand and with a double-bladed ax, no less. What's next? Will he claim to be the fifth Beatle? Gore's embellishments raised eyebrows again this past week--the Los Angeles Times reported that the privileged son of a senator has often portrayed his Army service in Vietnam, where he was a news reporter and never in actual combat, as more dangerous than it truly was. Here's a sampler of Gore's tall tales from Vietnam to Tennessee: * "I took my ...
