  • Dead rat, anti-immigrant note left outside 40th Ward Ald. Andre Vasquez's office

“Move the illegals and the Rats out of the 40th Ward!”

Who talks with that style of language?

A truly anti-illegal person would say “Deport” and would not imply that it was not a problem in the 39th or 48th.

Few, if any of the political assassinations in my lifetime in Chicago are included in any list.

It would help if we define terms.
Left: The Left is for more government.
Right: The Right is for less government. eg DOGE is Right.

It would help if we defined those in power vs those not in power. In Chicago those in power assassinated Herb Geisler, Ben Lewis, Fred Hampton, Mark Clark, Mike Baretto and many others were all assassinated by the Chicago Dem machine. Some of those assassinated were to the “left” of the machine. Some were to the “right” of the machine. The distinguishing feature is that members of the Dem machine felt threatened by them.

The ATF approached me in 1981 and asked me to set up a Puerto Rican who everyone knew was pumping gas at his brother’s gas station in the Puerto Rican neighborhood. I refused to get involved. Since the target was out in the open, I can only speculate that the assasination needed a fall guy. My being right wing and the Puerto Rican being Nationalist made me a plausible fall guy.

    “How chilling is it”

As far as I know, nobody, no organization or individual has discussed the specifics of limits on freedom of speech.

Example: We can’t cry fire in a crowded theater.
Can a person or group “TARGET” another person or group?
What is the difference between saying the mother of an opponent should have had an abortion (or tubes tied) and saying that the opponent, now age 30, should be aborted at age 30?

A lot seems to be in the subjective eyes of both the speaker and audience.

“focus on” NC or any specific place.

    A focus would mean either
    a) drunk & disorderly to murder law breakers or
    b) skilled, restaurant workers, laborers or
    c) skilled workers in IT, banking, insurance or
    d) Those who never had a visa, they were always illegal or
    e) Those whose visa expired or
    f)........

Using the word focus without saying the focus specifics is a waste of words.... a politician running at the mouth with no brain engaged.

It would be interesting to know how much immigration enforcement was influenced by local behavior. The midwest, CA and TX apparently had different criteria for who was “undesireable”. Even now, do the Feds treat all areas the same?

Hyundai in Blue Savannah in Red GA is a case in point. Why in Sep and not in Jun or July? Is it because by Sep more visas had expired and thus more illegals in the take?
S Korea certainly knew they had illegals and Trump was cracking down on illegals. Did S Korea assume that because GA has a Red governor they were untouchable? Was there behind the scenes diplomatic warnings that S Korea ignored?

Prior to Nixon immigration enforcement was mostly a matter of the local police. The city or county police would go to the scene of a “drunk n disorderly”, or a lovers quarel or a major crime. If the undesirable person was a non-citizen he would be held in the lock up until the weekly bus (train car early 60s) went to the border. Then he would be gone.

Cook County (Chicago) was the holding cell for Northern IL. Of course, most came from Chicago police. One minor defect: The county bailiff (Matt Biezcat, 26th ward, my ward) would accept cash donations and let a person out.

Winter of 64-65 I hitch-hiked the south and west. It was the practice everywhere. Local enforcement. Local enforcement was very uneven.

Nixon changed all of that. Nixon centralized enforcement. Previously the Feds mostly just enforced at the border and international airports.

google AI: “fascist characteristics in American political movements and events, such as the Project 2025 initiative and the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.”

This is an excellent example of what I have posted before.
    1) AI is inaccurate in its facts.
    2) AI is politically slanted with no obvious reason.

What will become of this energy in Nov 2025? Nov 2026? 2028?

In 1963-64 there was the same optimism for YAF and YFG. My friends and I worked Chicago’s 26th Ward for Goldwater. We doubled Eisenhower’s vote and tripled Nixon’s vote count. We assumed YAF and YFG were doing the same nationwide. We were too busy in the trenches to follow national news.

Election night we were flabergasted to learn that nationwide we seemed to be the only place where the R vote increased. All those YAF and YFG voices out there in other areas were not even trying to do anything meaningful to deliver the vote. They just had empty rhetoric.

The youth vote in 2024 is due to TPUSA. How will that be turned into votes from all age groups in the next 3 years?

“After over 40 years of Reaganite and Reagan-lite Republicanism”
Bush I, Trent Lott, Bush II, Denny Hastert, McLain, Romney were Nixon II and not Reagan Lite.

“traditional conservative interests, like economic protectionism”.... The thread is title “Free Trade”. Free Trade is Capitalism and is conservative by most people’s definitions...including Reagan.

The problem is other nations have tariffs and we didn’t. So Trump chose to fight fire with fire. But nobody confuses tariffs with free trade.

There are so much logical and factual nonsense that the atricle authors should be embarrassed.

I reject the thesis that “everyone” was a lone wolf. There were hundreds of people, both extreme left and extreme right, in Dallas armed to the hilt. I’ve been loosely associated with many assassinations where, yes, one person pulled the trigger. But there were many involved in the planning and execution...and observers like me who saw what was happening but did not participate.

Scrabbleback raises “paper trail”. When my 3” file had both innocuous bureaucratic garbage and accurate accounts of meetings of YPSL, YSA, etc by agents and informants I call that “paper trail”. Of course, now the trail is database and not paper.

News flash: Kash Patel is human. He makes more billiant decisions than I would make in his line of work. But he has also said some things that make (Eric Erickson) raise questions.

Is it possible we allow unique quirks in of personality to condemn a good person?

11,000 responses. In the old days, sifting thru the thousands of tips was tedious use of expensive manpower.
Modern technology can now sift thru the tips in seconds and rank them from most reliable to least reliable. Technology should never be used as “proof” in a case like this. But technology is definitely useful in “leads”.

“immigration for example, part of JFK’s 1960”

Interesting how history gets re-written. 1948-63 labor unions were the most anti-immigrant of any significant faction of society. Union leader Cesar Chavez was the leader of the anti-immigrant movement.

Immigration did not change until Nixon changed it about 1970 by removing local control and centralizing it in the Feds.

“If someone conspires with others to do a political killing you do it in private”

This comment is based on what experience? I was around many political killings in Chicago (Ben Lewis, Mike Baretto, Fred Hampton.....) and they were not done in private and are clearly designed to intimidate others....which only worked because they were not “private”.

“no evidence that either Oswald or Ruby had been part of any conspiracy.”

This is the hole in the entire story. Nov 9 (my birthday) my brother came from the Ken Goff (I Led 3 Lives) militia in Colorado to my Wheaton off campus room. He opened his case. It was filled with a rifle broken down into 3 parts, hand guns and other stuff.

He told me the left was going to try a Coup d’etat in Texas. He and others in the Militia were going there to stop the coup d’etat. He asked me to join them. I declined.

I went to YPSL and other left wing groups and listened. They had the same rumor and were going to Texas, heavily armed. Except their story was that the right was going to commit the coup d’etat.

Nov 22 there were hundreds of left wing and right wing, heavily armed extremists in Dallas. But most of them did not get off a shot. It became very unclear who and where was the enemy.

We know that there were both FBI agents and informants infiltrated into both extremist wings. We don’t know if any of them initiated or perpetuated the rumors of the Coup e’etat.

Later, After putting much of this in my Draft induction papers in San Antonio, I was “investigated” for a couple years before being drafted. As a personnel clerk at Ft Carson I managed my way into the seeing my 3” thick file. It contained papers that said I attended YPSL meetings in 1963-64.

    Politician... you got that right....

Today we separate those who say Kirk deserved it and those who say political violence is unacceptable. Now is not the time to promote internal divisions that have nothing to do with the issue of the moment.
