Attorney General Pam Bondi “whiffed” on understanding how much President Trump’s base of supporters cared about the release of the files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles said in an interview published Tuesday.
“I think she completely whiffed on appreciating that that was the very targeted group that cared about this,” Wiles said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
“First she gave them binders full of nothingness. And then she said that the witness list, or the client list, was on her desk. There is no client list, and it sure as hell wasn’t on her desk,” she continued.
Wiles pushed back on the article in a post on the social platform X on Tuesday, calling it a “disingenuously framed hit piece.”
Bondi also appeared to respond to the piece in her own X post in which she referred to Wiles as her “dear friend.”

I’m convinced that very few go in to politics to right wrongs and improve society. Most are in it for money and power. This is why the wrong people end up as powerful entrenched bureaucrats. Trump has exposed it, and no one in DC is happy.

According to NYT and other reports (CNN, People), Wiles denied to NYT saying Musk is an “avowed ketamine user,” but Vanity Fair shared a recording with NYT confirming she did. She broadly called the article a “hit piece” missing context.
