Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer offered a new plan to Republicans that would allow the U.S. government to reopen after a shutdown that began on Oct. 1. Schumer’s proposal calls for Democrats to agree to pass a so-called clean resolution that would provide short-term funding for government operations. In exchange, Republicans would agree to a one-year extension of existing enhanced tax credits that are used to reduce the cost of health insurance purchased on Affordable Care Act marketplaces.

Airlines have canceled more than 1,000 flights to comply with a shutdown-related FAA directive to reduce traffic at 40 airports, including Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas. Airlines canceled hundreds of flights Friday — the highest number since the government shutdown began — as they scrambled to comply with a Trump administration order to reduce air traffic amid growing concerns about potential staffing shortages. The administration announced Wednesday that it would direct U.S. carriers to trim their schedules by 10 percent at 40 U.S. airports — including major hubs in Atlanta, New York, Chicago and Dallas. “This isn’t about politics — it’s...

The US military has carried out another lethal strike on alleged drug smugglers in the Caribbean Sea, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Saturday. Hegseth in a social media posting said the vessel was operated by a US-designated terrorist organization but did not name which group was targeted. He said three people were killed in the strike. It’s at least the 15th such strike carried out by the US military in the Caribbean or eastern Pacific since early September. “This vessel—like EVERY OTHER—was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route,...

A federal judge in Rhode Island has temporarily ordered the Trump administration to continue funding benefits for SNAP, the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. "The court is orally at this time, ordering that USDA must distribute the contingency money timely, or as soon as possible, for the November 1 payments to be made," said U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr.

Four Republican senators voted with Democrats on Thursday to approve a bipartisan resolution to repeal President Trump’s global tariffs, including steeper rates on long-time allies such as the European Union, Japan and South Korea. Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), the GOP sponsor of the resolution, and Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) voted for it. The same proposal failed in the Senate in late April on a 50-49 vote after Vice President Vance cast the tiebreaking vote to defeat it. Critically, McConnell and Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.), who voted Thursday for the resolution, missed the...

It’s too good. It’s beyond comical. For the past week or so, liberal America has been apoplectic over President Trump’s new addition to the White House. He’s renovating the East Room so that a proper ballroom can be on the grounds, a venue that can accommodate at least 650 people. The president of the United States will forever have a place for official state dinners and other events—no more tents on the lawn. And yet, you’d think Trump ordered a slash-and-burn of the entire residence. Other presidents have done this—it’s not a big deal. The project is being funded by...

For 150 years, Presidents, Administrations, and White House Staff have longed for a large event space on the White House complex that can hold substantially more guests than currently allowed. President Donald J. Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem on behalf of future Administrations and the American people. The White House is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world, yet the White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders and other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building...

On MSNBC's The Weekend, in a segment on President Trump's ballroom project co-host Eugene Daniels called the Founding Fathers "nightmarish" on some policies, citing slavery. Daniels acknowledged that the Founders got it right in creating a White House that was relatively small, the goal being to distinguish it from the palaces of royalty. The original Constitution did not forbid slavery because the Southern states, whose economies were heavily dependent on slave labor, had made it clear that they would not join the United States if the Constitution had abolished slavery. Daniels would apparently have preferred a United States composed only...

[snip] Today, Katty Kay called the project "a let-them-eat-cake moment" given that it was happening during a government shutdown in which some food welfare benefits are on hold. Eugene Robinson took it an absurd step further, claiming: "People in Washington don't seem to have a sense of how ridiculous and infuriating this is to everybody else in the country."On behalf of tens of millions of people outside Washington, let me assure you, Gene: we're not infuriated, although many might be mildly amused by your hyperbole. The Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about Tariffs. The ad was for $75,000. They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, and other courts. TARIFFS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ECONOMY, OF THE U.S.A. Based on their egregious behavior, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT

@RepThomasMassie Last night, @SchmittNYC & I discussed the President’s proposal to purchase more beef from Argentina. The America First solution to rising beef prices is my bill, the PRIME Act. It would empower farmers to sell directly to consumers without corporate middlemen.

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev claimed on Thursday that United States President Donald Trump, whom he described as a false peacemaker, has set himself on a "warpath" against his country by introducing new sanctions on its oil sector. "They will, of course, say he could not help but be pressured in Congress, etc. This does not change the main point: the decisions taken are an act of war against Russia," the former president wrote on Telegram. "And now, Trump has fully aligned himself with insane Europe." Moreover, Medvedev noted a "latest swing of the Trump pendulum," claiming that...

The Israeli military conducted strikes against Hamas in Gaza after accusing the terrorist organization of repeatedly violating its ceasefire agreement on Sunday. An Israeli military official confirmed the strikes to Fox News on Sunday, pointing to attacks by Hamas since Friday. The official says the attacks on Israeli forces all took place beyond the line behind which Israel had withdrawn under the terms of the agreement. "The terror organization Hamas carried out multiple attacks against Israeli forces beyond the yellow line. The attacks included an RPG shot at a military force, and a sniper fire against a military force," the...

The CIA’s operations abroad are usually shrouded in secrecy, but President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had authorized the spy agency to take unspecified action in Venezuela, an extraordinary and unprecedented acknowledgement from a commander in chief. “Why did you authorize the CIA to go into Venezuela?” a reporter asked Trump at the White House. “I authorized for two reasons, really,” Trump said. “Number one, they have emptied their prisons into the United States of America." The second reason, the president said, was narcotics trafficking. “And the other thing are drugs. We have a lot of drugs coming in...

CBO’s review of the 2025 fiscal year shows Republicans have every reason to reject Democrats’ demands to end the ‘Schumer Shutdown.’Are you the kind of person who likes to spend $4 for every $3 you take in? If so, your financial management “skills” might qualify you to run for Congress. With people like that running the show, is it any wonder that interest costs on our national debt surpassed $1 trillion last year for the first time ever? The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) review of the fiscal year that just concluded on Sept. 30 provides one of many reasons why Republicans...

I gave GROK information from Devin Nunes' interview in which he said starting in 2015, and the investigation(s) of Donald Trump's potential Russia collusion, started by Hillary, forwarded by Obama, and resulting in in the Mueller Investigation, which was followed by the Ukraine whistleblower hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop investigation, and the classified documents raid at Mar A Lago. I asked Grok to provide information to help me identify select officials (i.e., to exclude Grassley, Durham, Nunes etc.) and agents who worked across multiple investigations and to provide the number of years those people worked on those investigations (Grok calls...

Bondi/Patel are actively investigating Hillary Clinton's email server, and the manner in which James Comey and the FBI investigated (or didn't investigate it). Below are the Cliff's Notes version I am using to come up to speed on what the big deal was. And yes, it does seem like a big deal. I thought I'd let it soak over night before I post it as a thread tomorrow.### Greatest Risks Involved in Hillary Clinton's Email Server MishandlingThe greatest risks from the mishandling of TOP SECRET/Special Access Program (SAP) materials on Hillary Clinton's private email server centered on potential exposure of...
