But aren’t those responding essentially enabling the behavior? (Including my own replies.)

Check my posting history; I’ve been gone for years. Why?

Because different forums took over the reins, offering the type of platform discussions - and ability to forcefully respond to trolls - that FR represented back in the day.

You can see the results on Alexa- is anyone actually being influenced or even bothering to look here any longer?

I mean, for the people still here, it’s as if the past 10 years didn’t happen, the continuing assumption of honest brokers differing only over policy.

Hello, the US has been overthrown and is presently under an occupation government. But water under the bridge and all that. I’m merely curious how it plays out.

Now that Russia has won WW3, the fun and games should really begin. First up, petro dollar, second, (illegal) immigration, third, dissolution

Yes, of course, that is standard mass trolling, perhaps best typified by stormfront in the 00s

My question is: why allowed here? Tired, burnt out, threatened? A nice media asset has been essentially destroyed. Why?

Then why did management allow it?

Perhaps there is dark, back end funding to enable propaganda from certain ngo groups?

Or maybe plain old coercion, either planted blackmail or simply veiled physical threats.

Either way, what’s happening isn’t just idle political speech any longer.

I honestly don't understand some of the concern & despair over the way the CV farce has played out. Ultimately, the lessons of the benefits of freedom & liberty have once again been taught to those who may have forgotten the "Gods of the Copybook Headings".

Perhaps more importantly, who exactly is bearing the brunt of this social experimentation is shaming and the subservience of self to the (defined by whom?) greater good? Yep, the young - teenagers and 20-somethings. In other words, the future of America.

So, I would suggest that people should chill out and relax. Because at least four crucial elements have come out of this episode:

    - Renewed respect and appreciation for the 2A
    - Re-purposed offshore production re-home for domestic employment
    - Support for nationalism, borders and sovereignty
    - Awareness of tyrannical government overreach

That last point is the most important - the blow-back against the alarming degree & scope of CV mandates is going to be immense. And it's gonna be the kids who learned these lessons first hand who are going to be leading the charge.

"A society should be judged by how it treats its most vulnerable."

    I would add:

    - "Taxes are the price of civilization."
    - "It takes a village to raise a child."
    - "Industrial civilization is fundamentally unsustainable and should be dismantled in order to secure a livable future for all species on the planet."

I have to admit I enjoy reading your CV advocacy. Ultimately, it's a challenge to infer your true intent, which is usually a good indicator of brilliance.

As Poe noted "Without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied."

    "this has divided Free Republic"

CV mandates are nothing more than re-purposing the classic Marx slogan "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."

All that has occurred is that the traditional, implied meaning of economic wants has been substituted for perceived social good. In other words, the young(er), healthy, productive able are now expected to defer to the (assumed) health requirements of elderly/co-morbid.

It's a nice trick, and like Catch-22, there certainly should be an underlying sense of awe about how all encompassing such a paradox trap presents. I mean, I for one really admire the beauty of such a nice rhetorical twist. However, all arguments have inherent weaknesses, with the CV shaming program no different. Anyone curious what it is?

Global warming, the green new deal and other broad societal engineering efforts all base their core strategic efforts on shaming. Its basic programming principles are to train people to think that they are socially obligated reach for a greater good (defined by whom?), therefore they should sacrifice their own wants, needs & desires for the group as a whole.

At this point, people should be then wondering, how is the position then allowed @ FR? And that is a very good question, because this type advocacy for CV power & control certainly isn't allowed @ T_D.win, et al. Nor is advocacy for any green new deal nor global warming; so why the exception for CV?

It may be only crackpot from the perspective of CV being an intentional, planned attack.

If you do a little background research on bio-terror weapons, I think you will find that grafting hybrid inter-species diseases isn't really that complicated. I mean, compared to developing a nuclear weapons program, it's beyond orders of magnitude easier bay a factor of 1000x. We're talking handfuls of people, some expensive lab equipment, and not much else vs creating an infrastructure like Hanford + Los Alamos.

If/when you reach the conclusion that creating bio-terror weapons is not especially difficult, you then may also realize that means: (a) everyone and their brother had/has already been performing the same exact experiments; and (b) while not especially difficult, the inherent dangers of a virus, bacterium, etc leaking out from the lab is extraordinarily high, therefore making these kinds of programs especially dangerous.

In this context, CV is very similar to Chernobyl. We have a 2nd rate power trying to play catch up with the most advanced nation on earth. But, because they lack so many necessary small details, the risk of catastrophic mistake remains high. And so through some royal fVckup, not entirely unexpected, the stupid idiots - essentially ignoring all warnings from other bio programs - kept on keeping on.

So, put yourself in the position of a global leader. First, you have to deal with the direct emergency at hand. But. you also have to be aware that the idiots might decide to simply allow the mistake to force their hand and initiate some kind of broader, strategic initiative. Therefore, you need to protect against that risk as well. Only after both threats have diminished can you then begin to address about what's going to happen going forward.

This is actually the easy part, because we already know what steps are going to taken, simply because they are so obvious: remove CCP influence from US media & academic institutions, we're going to re-home domestic production, and we'll militarize CDC to monitor if/when the CCP repeats the same mistake(s). A key component therefore of returning off-shored production will be to weaken/destroy the CCP, and perhaps reform the Chinese gov't to play more nicely with the world community.

"I hate to say this but who are the FEAR bros?"

The leader(s) of the pack - the ones I assume will be changing their FR handles at some point in the near future - are the initiators and primary posters on the daily CV thread.

As to motivation, it's always been about power & control; the ability to dictate: "From each according to ability, to each according to need". Most infer this slogan as pertaining to economic means. However, the enemies of freedom (temporarily) got clever and shifted targets to include social obligations.

The result is that the most healthy, physically able - literally the backbone of this country - are shamed into submission for the "greater good" of those completely dependent on their productivity. That is, the elderly on SS, and the obese, diabetic ghettopopotami, both of whom wouldn't even exist in the first place without an underlying economy to support them.

Actually, just fVcking with you, bro. I'm completely on board the dictator train - as long as it advances nationalists objectives. So far, the emergency decrees have resulted in closed borders, travel restrictions, re-homed domestic production, renewed appreciation of the 2A, rejection of 'illegals first', China tariffs (possibly reparations), etc.

We can print more than enough $trillions to cover the losses incurred by our front line troops aka small businesses, in our global war against both proglibs and the CCP. IOW, it's all good, man.

Matt posted links to these videos before, but here they are again in case anyone is interested:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaG6GjLFYFo
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bXWGxhd7ic

The key take away is that there isn't really some grand, top secret conspiracy. Research and development regarding engineered cross-species viruses has been public knowledge for 15+ years. Anyone moderately intelligent working in this field could (re)produce the same results. Conclusion: Duh, everyone and their brother already has; hence the repeated warnings from scientists how about dangerous the programs are.

So, why all the silence, wink-wink, hush-hush in-the-know business with YT videos, etc? Because while the Chinese fvcked up letting CV get out of their lab, the global reaction might be worse than CV itself. That is, if world-wide medical efforts can come up with some kind of emergency vaccine, prophylactic measures, etc, then maybe, just maybe we can keep this infection wave moderately under control.

But what if public hysteria, excitement or desire for revenge consumes different, perhaps less stable countries? What happens if demands for (military) retaliation begin to escalate out of control? That's what I think global leaders are trying to keep a handle on. That's the real risk - no one wants ICBMs to begin flying.

I've come full circle to agree with you on this angle. I watched that video yesterday; at this point it really seems to be the only possible explanation. (The other being that Trump is an idiot and trapped in a box. That might be well true, but I'm not yet ready to contemplate that reality.)

Those of us who knew about the exponential trajectory of pandemics understood the reasons for the initial emergency measures. Unlike you, once the numbers weren't taking off, I abandoned that position in favor of one that assumes CV has been in the US for at least as long as Wuhan. That position more logically explains why the socially restricted elderly & economically/medically disadvantaged co-morbids represent the lagging, not leading edge of a CV infection wave.

But, but that doesn't explain why Trump faithfully gets back up on the podium day after day talking about the "surge" that never comes; that is most likely never going to come. Instead, he rattles off production numbers, facilities preparations, extolling our military preparedness, etc. No one every seems to ask the most pertinent question, which is why isn't there "any there, there?"

So, I'm going with the "we're (un)officially at war with China" conclusion. That's why the carrier captain was cashiered - our advance position group revealed to have critical strategic weaknesses. It's why Pompeo has told every American to get back home. It's why the borders are locked down. It's why the governors are allowed to violate core constitutional rights with impunity.

It all makes sense through a national security lens.

In essence, there are 3 possible scenarios to explain the current situation:

    1. Trump is a dunce and is getting rolled; or

    2. Trump knows CV is overblown, but is going along with the charade all the while acting like a dunce getting rolled. Reason - he now holds (semi) dictatorial power with neither congressional nor judicial oversight, allowing him to impose/enjoy:

    - border controls
    - travel restrictions
    - moderated sanctuary states
    - destroyed 'illegals first' policy
    - renewed 2A adoption
    - re-homed domestic production
    - import tariffs
    - lower oil prices
    - undeclared cartel operations
    - $8-10T to invest/re-direct US economy
    - China sanctions/repatriation

    3. Trump knows CV a bio-terror weapon. As such, he needs time/space to allow proper development of emergency counter-measures. These include, but are not necessarily limited to vaccine(s), prophylactic measures, beefed up domestic production & supply lines, etc.

Assuming most/many of the better posters @ FR are among the intelligentsia, it is therefore our responsibility to ensure the public is sufficiently stampeded in a buffalo run to achieve a lock down in cases #2 & #3. (Because nationalists win in either situation.)

Instead of scoffing at the sheep wearing masks, we should be engaged in opinion shaping activities and encouraging conformance with this type of behavior modification to further the patriot agenda.

The key logic test is this: How is that those who travel extensively and/or come in contact with the public (firemen, police, dept store workers) were somehow the lagging indicators of a CV infection wave? For example, I was in NYC in Nov, Las Vegas during New Years, sharing a communal plate with an Asian couple at an upscale restaurant in LA in Jan, while my wife traveled back to NYC, then Miami in Feb.

But no, I somehow need to stay home because we need to slow the infection wave that first hit the social restricted & less economically flexible. That's right, because we're supposed to believe those who represent the vast majority of CV fatalities - elderly, co-morbids - were contracting CV first.

The whole construct falls on its face. The reason it makes no sense is because it's false. The mobile middle - those working, traveling, socializing - obviously got CV first. It's those who make up the current mortality stats that were infected last. QED

Further testing is merely going to prove that point. Which is why I assume Trump is already planning his pivot. He simply cannot afford to be caught on the wrong side of this issue as the truth is revealed.

Put yourself in the position of Trump. If he had done nothing, any CV deaths would have been trumpeted by the MSM as his own personal fault.

However, on the other hand, as evidence begins to mount that CV has indeed been in the US since fall, then Trump needs to pivot in order to be ahead of this salient, developing information.

For one, with CV here in the US for 6 months, it explains why the socially restricted, at-risk (elderly, co-morbids) were the last to become infected. IOW, the mortality stats represent the tail end caboose, not the leading edge canary. We reacted after the fact believing the wave of infections/deaths were a portent of things to come, rather than the lagging, last infected.

With this dawning awareness, we can observe the growing, simmering civil disobedience movement growing. I believe Trump is nimble enough, astute enough, aware enough to stay ahead of the curve. Under no circumstances can Trump allow his own base to rebel against what is developing as incontrovertible evidence about the true, diminished threat CV presents.

1000s of people were coming/go out of LAX, SJC & SFO 24/7 up until 1/31. My sister was a missionary in SE China (below Wuhan) and could fly r/t for $350 to visit our parents in Santa Clara. I'm not kidding when I say she visited them more from China than when she was in TX. (She was one of the first flights out and had to do 14 day quarantine.)

There is no logical way that CV wasn't in Calif literally 24 hrs after it showed up in Hubei back in the fall. That's why everyone was sick this winter with the non-flu; don't worry that it knocked people (such as myself) out.

Then we start seeing the slow reveal that the vast majority of CV fatalities are at risk elderly & co-morbids (hence the disproportionate AA numbers), while young and normal healthy are a-ok.

And then the grand finale, we discover fed funds are being directed to HC providers for reimbursements if CV is noted. Not the cause of death, but just the mere presence of CV alone.
