Readers are extremely confident that all the key facts are in the story. They have no hesitation in assuming the conclusion the writer wants the reader to make is the correct one. They can’t even conceive they could be wrong in their assumption, that any important facts could be missing.
You say the Ruble is circling the drain but it is close to what it was now when the war began.
You mock other countries for crushing debt but USA has a debt to GDP ratio 5 times worse than Russias.
And according to the IMF, Russia’s economy is now growing faster than every advanced economy in the world. But you say just give it time and they will die. We are dying faster
One of my favorite things to do is to call CE dating the “CHRISTIAN ERA”. they normally call this common era, but if you call it Christian era their faces will turn red, they will get mad, and their blood pressure will go haywire. It’s great.
There are still tens of thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars more to be flushed on Victoria Nuland’s gambit.
Look around, even on FR there are still many true believers eager to fight “until the last ukrainian” and suicide our economy on this wasteful adventure.
Surprise! Right after approving $61 billion, we are told that it is not nearly enough. This author says a minimum of $88 billion is needed each year. At least until the next article asking for $120 billion.
Now they are talking about ramming through an irreversible massive MULTI-YEAR funding plan that would put us on the hook for 10 years. One that Trump somehow could not reverse. 88 billion times 10 is... almost a Trillion dollars.
Enjoy the ridiculous arguments that this won't really cost us a thing because it's a "loan" and the money is spent in the USA. Great why not triple the amount then. We won't see a dime in repayment
I have gained so much respect for this senator year after year. I would be happy if he was chosen.
But then I have to challenge myself, if he is so good wouldn’t he more effective in the senate. And can we really afford to lose him in the senate. And would he really make a difference in an election, probably no VP really does. In reality is VP is a very powerless position, until the president leaves office.
In any case it is up to Trump, I’m sure there will be complaints no matter who is chosen.
