There is no more overused word by the left than “fair.”

Obama was asked if the Lafler curve indicated what he was planning led to getting less revenue why he was doing it. He answered, “Because sometimes it’s just about fairness.”

Check out the video of a very self-satisified Helmet Head standing outside #10 with her red budget box.

She’s had quite the makeover.

Wonder how much that hair, makeup, and suit cost UK taxpayers...

Back in the 70s I took a college philosophy course on Taxation. The professor was a hippy and he was obsessed with fairness. The class discussed policies of taxation and what would be the most Fair.

One possible scheme was to treat everyone the same — just (let’s say) a 10% tax on income for everyone. The professor didn’t like that. It wasn’t fair. Different people are in different circumstances and 10% for you might be painless, but 10% for me might be ruinous. Not a good plan. Treating everyone the same wasn’t Fair at all.

His preferred taxation policy involved a whole lot of different decisions, made by an expert (such as himself) so that some people paid more, some paid less, some paid nothing. Outcomes would be determined, some people would be helped, some would be punished, each decision determined by a panel of Good People who had opinions on these sorts of things. That was the most Fair, in his opinion.

The guy was a nut.

Oh my, more of in order to ultimately get rid of the Left, you have to strictly enforce it.

“There is no such thing as ‘safe’ socialism. If it’s safe, it’s not socialism. And if it’s socialism, it’s not safe. The signposts of socialism point downhill to less freedom, less prosperity, downhill to more muddle, more failure. If we follow them to their destination, they will lead this nation into bankruptcy.”

Well, citizens of the Untidy Kingdom, you surely didn’t think policies that crazy would come without somebody having to foot the bill for them? But keep voting for it, and avoid the scary right wingers, it has worked like a treat so far.

“Fair and necessary choices” that “deliver the biggest drive for growth in a generation” still includes hundreds of millions of dollars flushed on the Ukraine money black hole.

When Ukrainian politicians and middlemen get villas in Switzerland, this is fair for the UK taxpayer and will stimulate the UK economy greatly.

Nigel Farage MP
@Nigel_Farage

The planned farmers’ protest on Whitehall has been cancelled by the police at the last moment.

They have come to London and are now being arrested. This is outrageous.

Reform UK will provide legal support to every farmer protesting peacefully today.

Yes of course bad idea to start a thread and not follow up

She’s going to tax electric cars by the mile to replace the tax on gas as more people switch.

That’s probably a fairly big one in terms of raising revenue

They’re trying to pluck the turkey (topical).

> But keep voting for it… <

As you probably know, Labour has a huge majority in Parliament. But in the last UK general election, Labour only got 34% of the vote. That was enough, as rest was split between other parties.

How’s that for the parliamentary system? With 34% of the vote, Labour can and will destroy the country.

And there have been changes to election law in the UK since 2016.

Note the timing.

I’m seriously starting to think the UK will not vote their way out of this.
