I agree, we are not going to lay down and let the Dems wipe their feet on us.

I have been making calls for Scott Brown (R-MA) this week and they have been 3 to 1 in his favor.

One “life-long” Democrat said she felt “threatened” by Obama. She won’t switch parties, but she will vote for Brown, so that the Pubbies can “slow Obama down”

As you probably know, Brown was down by 30 pts. a month ago and Rasmussen has him down by 9 right now.

So we will fight this attempted coup. We have faced worse than Obama and ACORN in our 233 year history.

I liked the way you used the dial charts to refute the baseless charge that McCain ate Romney’s lunch. As Mitt might say: “Facts are stubborn things.”

Murtha’s problems are just beginning. Lt. Col. William Russell (R) will be returning from active duty in Iraq Aug.1 and he will be free to resume campaigning against the disgraced King of Pork, Murtha.

Even though Lt. Col. Russell was barred from active fundraising because of his military service, his campaign took in $670,000 in Q2 vs. Murtha’s $119,000.

With this verdict, the Marines are vindicated and Murtha looks like a 21st century Benedict Arnold.

Best wishes to Lt. Col. Russell and his plans to retire Murtha from the U.S. Congress.

Obama as CIC will be the American equivalent of Neville Chamberlain. Smile real big for the cameras, waive a sheaf of papers and wait for the war to start.

Thanks for the post. I have been helping get the word out on several conservative Republicans running in primary elections around the country and so I haven’t had the time to read much of what’s been posted over here.

I agree that the dynamics of the Middle East are such that the lunatic that runs Iran may get his wish for a war with Israel at any moment.

McCain agreed months ago to speak at La Raza’s convention in July. The only good thing that will come of McCain and Obama appearing at a town hall type meeting with La Raza is that it will showcase how potentially dangerous both of these men are to this country with their “open borders” approach to illegal immigration.

IMHO, we have to do everything we can to elect conservative Republicans to Congress to provide some adult supervision at the national level.

Hopefully, Jimmy Carter is a once in a lifetime anomaly brought on by the voter’s reaction to the Watergate scandals.

Thank God that Ronald Reagan was waiting in the wings and was willing to clean up the mess Carter left behind.

I am a contributor to Blog.ElectRomneyIn2008.com and in just the last several days I have received emails from volunteers in Texas, Louisiana, Idaho and Alabama, wanting to know how they could get in contact with their local Romney campaign offices.

I did three hours of door-to-door canvassing in my middle class neighborhood this past Saturday and Romney supporters outnumbered John "Open Borders" McCain supporters by 5 to 1!

I am hearing a new sense of optimism in the campaign, especially since the big win in Michigan. It increasingly looks like Gov. Romney can go "all the way to the Oval Office."

How would Mitt Romney, or any other Republican get elected in MA., the bluest of the blue states running on a hard right platform.

Politicians have to modify their stances somewhat, depending on the circumstances. On the other hand, you can be a "purist" who never has a nuanced position and garner 1% in the polls. I'm not saying a candidate should not have core values that never change, but as one political strategist said recently, you can get 100% of the vote of a bloc of voters who represent 25% of the electorate and still lose by a landslide.

It's not his standing in the polls that appeals to me. It's his positions on the issues. The other Republicans running have positions that make them glow in the dark.

Rudy? pro abortion, pro gay rights, gun-grabber. McCain? Proud co-sponsor of the "No Illegal Alien Left Behind" bill. Thompson? Won't sign the No New Taxes Pledge, obviously does not want to be President. Ron Paul? Well...My God! Tancredo? Like his stance on illegal immigration, but he seems pretty one-dimensional to me.

Newt Gingrich would rather sell books than be President and with his "negatives" would be a very hard sell.

That leaves us with the two best men in the race; Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter.

I agree with everything you said, but I doubt this will stop the attacks from the Romney bashers. They are irrational in their hatred for this decent man.

Mitt Romney is the only "firewall" we have between us and another Clinton administration. Let's not repeat 1992 and "stay home" or "go third party" and let the Clintons back into the Oval Office and all that would mean to the future of this country.

We expected MR to hit a home run with his speech on religion. I can't wait to see the first of the Iowa polls that measure voter reaction to Romney's address.

I bet Mike Huckabee has that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach right about now.

IMHO, Duncan Hunter supporters and Mitt Romney supporters are natural allies. I would like to see Mitt pick Hunter as VP or Sec. Def.

We would be very happy to welcome you as a Mitt Romney supporter if, in your judgment, it's time to move on and throw your support to Mitt.

Good points. This time around we have to keep in mind that if we Republicans lose this election, because some voting bloc get ticked off and “stays home” or even worse, “goes third party”, we will be responsible for escorting Bill and Hill back into the Oval Office, with all the implications that has for the future of this country.

On the abortion issue, that one is easy. Mitt Romney has said: "I wasn't always a Reagan Republican, but then, neither was Reagan."

Ronald Reagan signed what was then the most liberal abortion bill in the country in 1967. He said years later that he regretted signing the bill and should have vetoed it. Some years later, he changed his mind on abortion and became a strong pro-life president.

At one time Reagan, as you know, was a Democrat and was a big admirer of Harry Truman. He changed course on that, too.

This is by no means intended as a criticism of President Reagan, who I admired very much, but rather to point out that even a Republican icon like Reagan had several changes of heart on his way to becoming one of the most effective leaders this country has known.

Mitt Romney has also changed his position on abortion. The pro life movement is all about "conversion." So when we win a "convert", lets welcome them into the fold!

I like Duncan Hunter very much and can see him as Mitt's Veep or as Sec. Def.

In the meantime, we have a general election to win. If we foul ball this election by the eternal in-fighting amongst fellow Republicans, we will be rolling out the red carpet for HRC.

It looks increasingly like the only person that stands between HRC and the Oval Office is Mitt Romney!
