MILFORD — .I would like to respond to Mrs. (Marie) Parente's article, "Licensed, unlicensed, and the incensed," published Dec. 16, regarding the exploding quantity of benefits, undocumented aliens receive from U.S. taxpayers. It seems that with all good intentions, our elected officials have determined that the best way to solve a problem is by throwing money at it. As a state, we have changed from a land of opportunity, into a land of entitlement, all at the expense of legal residents doing the right thing day in and day out.

Four years ago, when I had just about completed the lengthy legal and financial vetting process required by the U.S. government to place my then-92-year-old-mother in a nursing home, I was asked to produce her birth certificate as “proof” of her citizenship. While she was born in America, had voted in every election for untold decades, and paid her taxes religiously, that wasn’t good enough to qualify my elderly mother –deaf, legally blind, and confined to a wheelchair – to be admitted to the facility I had chosen for her near....

$104,655.60 Ad in The Washington Post-- Here is someone with the money to fund a rebuttal to what Howard Dean, Democratic National Committee Chairman, said that 'many Republicans have never done an honest day's work in their life'. The following full-page ad was placed in the Washington Post by a businessman named George J. Esseff, Sr. He paid $104,655.60 to run the ad and only did it because he is sick and tired of the way that 'the rich' are portrayed by liberals these days. It is a great read.

This is the first time I've seen this video. Very compelling and. It outlines the ignorance and arrogance of the Democrats trying to block regulatory legislation of Fannie and Freddie. Could it be that the MSN, with it's insatiable appetite for overreporting dramatic news events, could be responsible for relief worker's apprehension in entering the disaster area. I just heard two reporters, within five minutes of each other, on Good Morning America, say that everything was peaceful in the effected area, and plead with the audience to send help. They themselves, including little miss perky pants and Matt Blower, speculated that they may have been blowing the situation out of perspective. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen and heard it.
