They just keep getting everything wrong. Reminds of a bull in a china shop.

Of note, would be when the new media does its job correctly, not this.....This is business as usual...

Greg Mitchell, editor of the trade magazine Editor & Publisher, called the media's performance "disturbing and disgraceful" Gee, Wally, no one around here ever thought of THAT before...

Actually reminds me of an old saying, "Do it anyway... It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission"

Local and national media all try to be "the first to bring you breaking news". They rushed this one in order to beat out the competition.

I saw the title and that it was from USA Today and thought "O Joy!" Then I realized it was about only the inaccuracies in reporting the mine tragedy...

The Times (NW Indiana) printed a statement today that the story yesterday wa incorrect. The statement said that the newspapers were already being printed (not delivered), when they found out. They made the correction, but sent the already printed copies out anyway.

Why are the media bothering to explain anything? This entire incident is consistent with the CBS standard of journalism - JUST SAY IT. IT'S TRUE UNTIL SOMEONE PROVES IT IS NOT TRUE.

Nestle's sent out poison infant formula after it was banned from sale in the USA.
Hey, when you have stock on hand, you have to move it. Screw those first-quarter charges!!!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!
No courage, No brains, and No heart.
Poetic justice that they are forced to report their own greed and gluttony.

For the record...
Free Republic gets it wrong a lot as well.
Breaking news is well breaking news. It just isn't always correct.
We all get it wrong from time to time

I can STILL see Geraldo asking those people: "Tell me about it...tell me about it." " Who is your dad" Tell me about it. Tell me about it."
Same old bunch of showboats who don't deserve my attention. When I saw Geraldo saying all of the above my husband and I looked at each other in total disgust. Just another so called journalist. They are all disgusting and should be called to the table on this one.

I agree. Fox News was wrong too. They ALL were!!! But...the networks have been at it for years. Jump on that story then something else happens and they leave that story in the dust and move onto the next. It's all silly, irrelevant and not worth my time anymore. Rush and Brit but...mostly Rush. He's the man with the facts and the truth.

Geraldo was by far the worst. The WORST!!. I'm going to have nightmares about that sickening 'performance' the other night. FNC should be ashamed of employing someone like that.
To: hiramknight
Good night and good luck, indeed.

Greg Mitchell, editor of the trade magazine Editor & Publisher, called the media's performance "disturbing and disgraceful" They're coming around to our way of thinking? Pigs are flying.
