I'm in an argument with liberal co-workers on the merits of gun ownership. They are claiming that there are few (if any) examples of where civilians (not police officers or security guards) came to the public’s defense. We are talking about malls, universities, restaurants, etc., not private residence. I'm sure there was an incident at restaurant a few years ago, but can't find a link.

Can anyone tell me whether US35 in West Virginia is a good road? Sorry for the vanity, but I don't know who else to ask than my fellow Freepers!! I'm traveling from Champaign, Illinois to North Carolina. I thought I would take I-65 south to Louisville then I-64 east to Charleston. Mapblast suggests I take I-70 east through Dayton, then take US-35 south through Ohio and West Virgina hooking up with I-64 just west of Charleston, WV. US-35 looks like a good 4 lane road in Ohio. Question for those who watched this weeks Boston Legal. I have the distinct impression that two of the main characters, close buddies Denny Crane and Alan Shore, will soon have a 'brokeback mountain' episode. The writers have already had them sleeping in the same room on a fishing trip, then sharing a bed to combat Alan's 'night terrors'. Sunday morning I was watching Foxnews at a friends house. They showed a very funny gag video of a British woman interviewing some Iraqi 'insurgents'. The three men were classically dressed in insurgent attire complete with cloth rapped around their faces and holding automatic weapons. As the leader for the 'insurgents' speaks, he notices that everything he says is being subtitled below in english. The guy gets mad and loses control because he thinks they are not needed as his 'english is good, I studied at American University in Cairo'. Did anybody else see this?
