FR has been a great resource before, so I'll give it a whirl here: Some friends of mine have a rather "adventurous" teenage daughter. As a result, they are looking for recommendations on the best options to STEALTHILY monitor her Windows 10 PC and IOS smartphone. While I am an IT type, I have zero experience or knowledge of this stuff as I never really needed it with my now adult sons.

Economist Thomas Sowell is famous for his accurate analysis and for expertly separating fact from fiction. Let’s ponder some provocative statements from his book Controversial Essays. “The strongest argument for socialism is that it sounds good. The strongest argument against socialism is that it doesn’t work.” Yes, it sounds good to say that industries will be run by the state in the public interest, but such industries always fail, or perform badly. The Russians under Lenin virtually abolished private farms and created state-owned cooperatives to feed their population. The result: famine, and large imports of food from abroad. On a...

Campaign watch: McCain’s money troubles In a stroke of near biblical irony, John McCain is in trouble over campaign financing again. When he was broke, and his campaign hit the skids last year, he opted for public financing as collateral for a $4-million loan. Of course, since then, his fortunes have improved dramatically, and he recently told the Federal Election Commission that he wants to opt out of public financing. By doing so, he would not be hamstrung by its $54-million spending cap in the primaries. Normally, McCain’s evading rules that he has spent half of his career to get...
