No, Pence's plan does not put guest workers on a path to citizenship. Pence makes that abundantly clear. Pence's proposal does not deal with citizenship, it is a completely separate and different process.

Pence's plan allows guest workers to re-apply three times under his proposal for two year increments. At the end of this time they are REQUIRED to go home or to apply for citizenship. If they stay here without applying for citizenship they will be illegal and will be immediately apprehended and deported.

The guest workers' opportunity to apply for citizenship is no different than any other person who would like to apply for U.S. citizenship. This is completely seperate from the Pence bill and on the own accord of the individual guest worker. 95 percent if not more of green card applicants are turned down, so there is no guarantee any of these guest workers will be able to become citizens. And if they do, the fact that they were guest workers under Pence plan does not give them any advantage. They still have to go to the end of the line.

Pence's plan is NO AMNESTY!

Pence's plan is No Amnesty? Under Pence's plan there is no path to citizenship. All the illegals have to go home and they can't come back unless they have an employer willing to hire them. After being screened by private companies (which makes it more effective than any government bureaucrat) to ensure they are not felons or terrorists, they become "legal workers" and not legal citizens.

They have to leave after 2 years unless they can pass standard english tests and recite our national anthem. Then they can only stay for 6 years which they must return home or register for citizenship the legal way. All the while we get our borders secure, build our fence, enforce the law, and crack down on employers who hire undocumented workers. Sounds like a principled plan to me.

When Pence says "this process will take 3-5 days" he is talking about the private companies running checks on these migrants so we will know if they are murderers or terrorists.

I don't believe that folks will be able to go home and come back within a week. It's going to take longer than that for us to build our wall once Pence's bill is passed. That comes first!!!!!

First off, there is no "Guarantee" that they will be able to come back under the Pence plan. They must have an employer willing to hire them plus there is a limit to how many visas are distributed. This is what gives illegals the incentive to return home so they could have a better chance of receiving a visa.

Second, after they work 6 years, they MUST GO HOME. The only way they can receive citizenship is to apply through the American way. Pence's plan has no route to citizenship because Mike Pence doesn't believe in amnesty.

Pence knows this is the only shot to get hr4437 passed in the Senate.We get that passed and our borders should be secure.Then Pence says they all have to go home before reapplying for a limited get worker.Send them all home,then build a wall.We then control our borders.

Doesn't matter who is V.P. as long as it is not a RINO, like Reagan did with Bush. We need a strong conservative ticket. But with Pence at the helm, conservative leadership will be strengthened for many years to come.

Newt Gingrich was an effective leader for the first 100 days back in 94, but after that he abandoned our conservative principles on the alter of our governing majority.

Plus, he is singing Pence's praises. He said the other night on C-SPAN that at CPAC all he is going to be speaking about is Mike Pence and his effective leadership in the House and for the ideas and principles of Reagan

I think Jeb shot himself in the foot with conservatives by not intervening with the Terry Schiavo case.
