Pembroke Park officials to hold special meeting ... PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – As the clock ticks for Pembroke Park to secure police coverage before its contract with the Broward Sheriff’s Office expires Saturday, one potential option is now off the table. It also appears the town may be scrambling to get its startup in-house police department, scheduled to launch in 2023, up and running in mere days. If nothing happens, the south Broward town of about 6,000 people will have no police patrolling its streets. BSO deputies would only respond to emergency calls, as dictated by state statute, and could...

A Broward sheriff’s deputy who was fired for taking cover behind his truck and then driving away from the Parkland school massacre should be reinstated with back-pay, an arbitrator has ruled. With Monday’s ruling, Deputy Josh Stambaugh is now the second fired deputy in recent months to have an arbitrator rule they should get their job back after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony fired Josh Stambaugh on June 25, 2019, following investigations into his response during the 2018 massacre in Parkland. At the time of the termination, Tony had been on the...

The Florida Senate on Wednesday voted to permanently oust suspended Broward Sheriff Scott Israel over his officers' response to the mass shooting that killed 17 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018. The GOP-controlled state Senate voted 25-15 in favor of Israel’s permanent removal. “I hope the outcome provides some measure of relief to the Parkland families that have been doggedly pursuing accountability,” Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, said in a statement after the vote.
  • Islamist Deputy Sheriff Nezar Hamze has Sit-Down with Taliban Imam

In South Florida, terror has a badge and a gun. After leaving his job at CAIR, Nezar Hamze has now settled into his new position as Executive Director of the South Florida Muslim Federation (SFMF), an umbrella organization for most if not all of the area’s Islamic extremist groups, including CAIR. Last month, SFMF held a meeting at a radical mosque with a number of SFMF affiliate imams, one of which was previously arrested and charged with conspiring to provide funding to the Pakistani Taliban. All of this should be unsettling for Floridians and Americans, but what is most alarming...
  • Paramedics wanted to enter Parkland school where kids were dying. BSO said no.

During the chaos of the Parkland school shooting, paramedics from Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department were desperate to go inside the building where students were wounded and dying. Michael McNally, deputy chief for Coral Springs fire-rescue, asked six times for permission to send in specialized teams of police officers and paramedics, according to an incident report he filed after the Feb. 14 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that left 17 people dead. But every time McNally asked to deploy the two Rescue Task Force teams — each made up of three paramedics and three to four law enforcement officers —...

'Iron Man's' father wants a 2014 battery case involving Sheriff Scott Israel's son to be investigated by the state. — The father of a survivor of the Parkland school shooting rampage .. called for an investigation into the handling of a 2014 incident involving one of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel's children. The alleged incident occurred exactly four years before the deadly massacre on Valentine's Day. ... Royer Borges said that a then 17-year-old son of the sheriff was involved in an incident with former Deputy Scot Peterson, the former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School resource officer. Peterson was the...
  • News Reports Contradict Broward Sheriff's Denial of 39 Visits to Cruz House

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel vehemently denied to National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch on Wednesday during CNN's Town Hall on the tragic shootings at Stoneman Douglas High School that police were called to the home of the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, thirty-nine times. He claimed that it was reported inaccurately. How, he didn't say.  The following video of his denial reveals the extent of the sheriff's anger on that topic. As we shall see, his denial of those many visits to the Cruz house comes off as petulantly ridiculous because it had been widely reported on, including by CNN.
