FITCHBURG – The mother of the former Lunenburg High football player whose home was spray-painted last month with racist graffiti is now the target of the investigation into the incident, according to court records. Andrea Brazier was questioned by Lunenburg police and an FBI agent on Nov. 25, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Fitchburg District Court. During that interview, the FBI agent suggested to Brazier that Brazier was pushing for the investigation to end because she was the one who had scrawled the graffiti, the affidavit said. “Andrea stated ‘OK,’ ” according to the affidavit filed by...

The papers, written in support of yesterday’s search warrant at the home of 13-year-old Isaac Phillips and his family, said cops believe Phillips’s mother, Andrea Brazier, “made false statements misleading investigators” and “is in possession of any and all instruments pertaining to the crime of defacing property” being kept at...

In March 1994, a year before "Dreams" was published, Obama was the lead defense attorney on an obscure case in Cook County Court that has heretofore escaped examination by the national media. In this case, Obama defended a Chicago slumlord and powerful political ally who was charged with a long list of offenses against poor residents. The defendant was the Woodlawn Preservation & Investment Corp., controlled by Bishop Arthur Brazier, a South Side Chicago preacher and political operator. Brazier's burgeoning real estate empire included a low-income housing project at 6223 South University. Today, Map Quest describes the Woodlawn neighborhood as...
