FITCHBURG – The mother of the former Lunenburg High football player whose home was spray-painted last month with racist graffiti is now the target of the investigation into the incident, according to court records.

Andrea Brazier was questioned by Lunenburg police and an FBI agent on Nov. 25, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Fitchburg District Court. During that interview, the FBI agent suggested to Brazier that Brazier was pushing for the investigation to end because she was the one who had scrawled the graffiti, the affidavit said.

“Andrea stated ‘OK,’ ” according to the affidavit filed by Lunenburg Police Detective Jeffrey Thibodeau. “Andrea just kept answering ‘OK’ and that she wanted everything to end and that we did not understand.”

The discovery of the graffiti on Nov. 15 led officials to cancel the football team’s season and threw the town into turmoil. But authorities have since said the football team has been cleared and the investigation was looking at other suspects. [snip]

Just maybe the mom of this victim spray-painted her own house with racial slurs against her own kid. Investigators are not finished yet, but she is a "person of interest" in the case.

The story is that the kid was on a football team and someone spray painted his house with some statement that the team did not want people of his race, or color, or something, on the team. The team has been exonerated except for the lingering stain of the initial accusation.

It will be fun to see how this works out!

FBI? For a local graffiti/vandalism case?

No wonder they couldn't find Whitey Bulger or get a line on the Marathon Bombers.

It seems like it would be simpler if the Media would just initially report these cases as hoaxes. Then they could issue retractions only if and when one of them turns out to be real.

Good idea, but that would not increase “racial tension” or help Dems to get elected.

Hanging nooses and spraying racist grafitti and then lying about who did it is a normal part of the Ebonic culture.

“Hanging nooses and spraying racist grafitti and then lying about who did it is a normal part of the Ebonic culture.”

This is a little more complicated- the dad is Black, mom White, kid mixed-race. But you are correct about the culture, which is not always about skin color.
