A record-breaking ruling for the family of Bob Levinson, a former FBI Agent who vanished while in Iran 13-years ago. Thursday, a U.S. judge ruled Iran must pay Levinson's family $1.46 billion, the largest judgement for a case of this kind... Levinson disappeared in 2007 while working as a CIA contractor in Iran. His family immediately called on (Atty. David) McGee, who was Levinson's friend, to help bring him home... Earlier this year, Levinson's family announced they were convinced the husband and father of seven was dead. In a statement, they said the judgement was the "the first step in...

Convicted double cop killer Anthony Bottom is being paroled in Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) New York. WCBS 880 reports that Bottom and two other members of the Black Liberation Army ambushed NYPD Officers Joe Piagentini and Waverly Jones by using a fake 911 call to get them to come “to a Harlem housing complex,” where they were shot dead. Jones was killed with a single shot to the back of the head while Piagentini was shot 22 times, begging for his life during the attack. Piagentini’s widow, Dianne Piagentini, said that when she learned of Bottoms’ parole it hit her “like a punch...

A new Gallup poll shines a spotlight on the deep political divide in America and surely points to what the upcoming presidential election will be about. Gallup asked, "How proud are you to be an American?" Seventy-six percent of Republicans said "extremely proud" compared with 22 percent of Democrats. Broken down by age, 63% of those over 65 said "extremely proud," and only 24% of those 18 to 29. This tells us something about Nike's recent move to pull its Betsy Ross flag sneakers from the marketplace, having taken guidance from its ex-football star anti-hero, now-Nike corporate spokesman, Colin Kaepernick....

Colin Kaepernick’s history teachers should be ashamed of themselves. They either failed to teach him real history, or they succeeded in indoctrinating him into a false political narrative. Either way, he was short-changed and missed out on one of history’s greatest stories. To associate the 1776 American flag with slavery is to miss the purpose and genius of the American Revolution. The former football player turned well-paid corporate activist put the kibosh on a special edition Nike shoe because it sported the Betsy Ross flag on the heel. I’m sure you’ve heard that much. Kaepernick’s reason, which I’m sure you’ve...

Appearing on CNN this morning, Charlottesville Vice-Mayor Wes Bellamy repeatedly referred to President Trump as “45.” Host Chris Cuomo eventually asked him about it, to which he responded: “That’s just what I call him. I believe that when he begins to act as if he deserves to be in that office, and leads in terms of unifying people, then he will deserve the name of President Trump. But at this point, I believe that he has not done the things in regards to bringing this country together.” View the video here.

As the school year comes to an end in Los Angeles, many students look forward to hanging out at the beach, going on family trips, or attending vacation Bible school. But since teens, and preteens, who want to abolish police need summer activities too, the Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter is organizing a Youth Activist Camp. The week-long cultivation, which runs June 12 through June 16, will be “free for all Black youth, ages 10-18.”

We’ve always wondered why there is so much debate about the rate of inflation. It seems like such a simple thing to track. You go in the store. You buy a box of Wheaties. You write down the price. Next month, you do the same thing. What’s so hard about that? But what if the box is smaller next month? What if the Wheaties are twice as good? What if you can get the same enjoyment from a box of Wheatie-Puffs at half the price? What’s the real rate of inflation? It depends on how you figure it. The Labor...

Law Enforcement: The attorney general defends the Justice Department's mishandling of the New Black Panther voter intimidation case in racial terms at the same time he says race had nothing to do with it. Post-racial politics and color-blind justice took a hit Tuesday during a House subcommittee hearing into Justice's failure to pursue a clear-cut case of voter intimidation by members of the New Black Panther Party in the 2008 election. The hearing also involved the department's documented failure to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the matter. Attorney General Eric Holder took umbrage at a comment about...

The United States is emerging as the prison guard of the world, Angela Davis told a UW-Madison audience Thursday. Between the prisoners the U.S. is holding in Iraq and Afghanistan and in secret CIA prisons, the county is promoting strategies of incarceration based on torture, said Davis, the former Black Panther Party member who now is chair of feminist studies at the University of California-Santa Cruz. The evidence of torture in military prisons only highlights what is already going on in domestic prisons, she said. "We have not even begun to talk about the people who are the victims of...
