    Sunday morning vanity for a buddy. One of his new careproviders is fufilling his interest in reading books out loud to him. He does not care for books on tape as he enjoys the interaction of reading with someone. He is a quadroplegic 27yrs now and very active in all aspects of life, case you are wondering. So our little town started a community reading circle and he can check books out of the Library but would rather buy the book and keep it. So word is getting out. But he needs Titles/Authors as people want to give him books....

    I was reviewing my libray and was wondering what the best, all time favorite, must have books I should get to complete my Conservative Collection. Here's what I've got: God & Man at Yale, All PJ O'Rourke Books (He converted me in 1996), Witness, First Things by Hadley Arkes (Must read for Pro-lifers!) Any thoughts, Freepers?

    Just like last year, I am on a committee that will select a common text for our university's incoming first-year students freshmen. I am seeking suggestions from Freepers. The text must be less than 300pp, and should be something beyond what students would get in high school but not overwhelmingly scholarly. It need not be related to public policy. It can even be a novel. This year's list so far appears to be heavy on books that persuade students of the virtues of modern science (implicitly encouraging them to reject whatever religious priors might conflict with that), on books that...
