Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett was involved in two separate motor vehicle accidents Sunday, June 15, the latter of which resulted in his being arrested and booked on a single charge of driving under the influence. The first incident, a single-vehicle rollover, occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in Shoshone, Calif., according to the California State Highway Patrol. Clearly angry and frustrated, but indicating no intention of removing himself from his campaign for re-election, Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett, 49, spoke at length during a press conference yesterday afternoon. He was arrested Tuesday on 42 counts relating to the county-wide Bad Check Program.
