U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) co-captain Megan Rapinoe ripped into the “send her back” chant that erupted at President Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally, calling it “disgusting and despicable.” “I think we’re one step away from just saying a racial slur on national television, from the president of the United States,” Rapinoe said in an interview with the Charlotte Observer published Saturday. The chant about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was “sad and disgusting and despicable,” said the athlete, who protested the national anthem during the World Cup. Rapinoe previously made headlines for saying she would not visit the “fucking White...

Here it is, July:And the country is plunged into a lot of hazy, hot and humid weather. I predict that August will bring more of the same.Summer in the northern hemisphere is often unbearable especially in the deep south and the concrete heat traps of urban centers. Or at least it was unbearable before Willis Carrier invented the air conditioner in July of 1902. Ironically it was invented not to make us more comfortable but rather to make us more productive. Carrier was called in to figure out how to allow a printing factory in Buffalo, NY to continue operations when...

Commentary: The Congresswoman Representing Somalia July 18, 2019 Minnesota Sun Staff BY GEORGE S. BARDMESSER I am an immigrant. I want Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) to go back to the shithole country she came from. And I want her to stay there. I spent some time on the Internet looking for even one positive thing that Omar has said about America—but my search was in vain. Omar hates and despises her adoptive country unequivocally and unconditionally. She hates everything about America today, and she hates everything about the America of yesterday. Omar hates white people. Omar hates Jews—and she is...

Good country song with a pop vibe to it. Enjoy.

OK, so I wrote my post about the heat earlier today. Yes, it was a hot day but I went for a second walk around 7PM when the temperature dropped to a more comfortable 85 degrees. One thing I noticed, as is the case pretty much any day, is that there are zero kids on the streets. Now I know a lot of kids live in my neighborhood because during the school year, as I take my morning walks, all those big yellow buses ply the streets. During the winter months especially, you see all those idling SUV's and minivans...

Though he has long been an advocate for a nationwide $15/hour minimum wage, presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (S-Vt) pays some of his campaign workers less than this amount. These workers have unionized and are threatening to strike if they don’t get a raise. Campaign manager Faiz Shakir tried to explain “we can’t afford to meet this wage standard under current conditions. We don’t have the resources needed to pay this much. What we are asking our supporters to do is make a temporary sacrifice for the cause.” These sacrifices include 12-hour workdays and 6-day workweeks at less than minimum...

Kudos to Humberto Fontova over at TownHall.com for reminding us of another time when liberals weren’t so kind to refugees seeking asylum while fleeing genuine repression and poverty. Then even the New York Times and parallel universe occupant Thomas Friedman supported secure borders to the point even a bitter clinger might blush: ''America is a country where the rule of law rules. This picture (a U.S. Marshall pointing a genuine assault rifle at a terrified 6 year old Hispanic immigrant, whose mother had just drowned or been eaten alive by sharks) illustrates what happens to those who defy the rule...

The 2017 Tubbs Fire was the most destructive wildfire in California history, burning the wine-growing Napa and Sonoma regions north of San Francisco. The greatest losses occurred in Santa Rosa city where 2,800+ homes were incinerated (one neighborhood shown in the picture below ). After a full year investigation, State officials traced the cause to a malfunction in a private electrical system. Obviously, Santa Rosa was caught vastly unprepared. There's now great danger our country will face a disastrous wildfire -- an economic & cultural one if radical Dems are elected in 2020. Bernie Sanders' outright communist agenda was radical...

Forget Mean Girls. The Mod Squad is a better appellation for the Fearsome Foursome who dominate the House Democratic Caucus. The premise of the original Mod Squad was described as “taking three rebellious, disaffected young social outcasts and convincing them to work as unarmed undercover detectives as an alternative to being incarcerated.” Now we just elect such people to Congress—incarceration of a different kind—and sit back with a yuuuge bucket of popcorn as they take the Democratic Caucus hostage. Maybe the movie version should be called “Dog (-Whistle) Day Afternoon”?

You all know by now that I’m into beauty pageants given that I grew up in Puerto Rico, aside from the fact that my best friend’s daughter is the current Miss Puerto Rico. She’ll be participating in the Miss Universe Pageant in December 2019. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts about this subject, Donald Trump has been to the island numerous times and we got to know him quite well when he was the owner of Miss Universe, Inc. Previous post about Trump’s pageant organizational skills: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3763583/posts People call President Trump a “Racist”, which is so untrue. I’ve just analyzed...

While much of the world seems to regard Iran’s seizing of ships near the Straits of Hormuz as”troubling,” former US Secretary of State John Kerry called these actions “gratifying. I’ve been advising the government of Iran to stand up against Trump’s bullying for more than two years. I’m glad to see they’re finally doing so.” Kerry brushed aside accusations that his actions might be construed as treason, contending that “since we are not currently at war with Iran they are not our enemies, therefore, the aid I’ve given them doesn’t meet the Constitution’s definition of treason. As a citizen of...

Well it's 95 degrees out there here in Southern Connecticut and expected to top out around 98 degrees. Tomorrow will be another hot day with a projected high of 99 degrees here in Newtown. Really hoping it hits 100 to tell you the truth - in the same manner that on a cold winter night, I'm rooting for the temperature to hit zero as I sit by a roaring fireplace. Not sure why I think this way but I get sort of bummed when it only gets down to one degree or up to only 99 degrees. Feels like I...

Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman has been following the Jeffrey Epstein case very closely and he reports that as early as the next few days, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will release approximately 2,000 pages of documents. According to the court’s three-judge panel, the documents will implicate “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders.” Attorney David Boies, who represents Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, told Sherman the documents were filed during a civil defamation lawsuit brought by Giuffre, a former Mar-a-Lago locker-room attendant, against Epstein’s former girlfriend...

Hypocrites who voted for Obama falsely blame Trump for the high cost of Obamacare The Los Angeles Times recently published this article, which is called, “Rising health insurance deductibles fuel middle-class anger and resentment.â€The article cites numerous examples of middle class people who are having trouble paying their health care bills, despite the fact that they have the Obamacare mandated health insurance that became law in 2010.The article states:“Half of Democrats struggling with the costs of their job-based health coverage blame the Trump administration for the cost pressures.â€This belief is completely irrational. The health insurance that these Obama voters are complaining...

Last year I went to the annual Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. You may remember me discussing it at the time. They had a production of The Tempest showcasing Martha Henry as Prospero – the revenge seeking wizard exiled to a remote island. The role of Prospero is considered a plum role and highly sought after by men in their fifties or sixties as it is quite possible they would have a 15-year-old daughter. Given that the director chose to fundamentally transform Prospero’s character from Miranda’s father to her mother it’s a bit more of a stretch for the 80...

Hypocrite Bernie Sanders says it’s “not acceptable†that some of his employees have complained about getting paid less than $15 an hour Bernie Sanders has repeatedly said that he wants the minimum wage to be raised to $15 an hour. However, he pays some of his own employees only $13 an hour. And he said it’s “not acceptable†that some of his employees have complained about this. These are Sanders’s exact words:“It does bother me that people are going outside of the process and going to the media. That is really not acceptable. It is really not what labor negotiations are about, and it’s...

Hannah Brown isn’t here for slut-shaming. Throughout her season of The Bachelorette, the former pageant queen has openly discussed her sex life — and even boldly declared “I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me” while sending contestant Luke Parker packing — but she has received backlash on social media for the decision.

Judging from media accounts and the hyperventilating Democrats, people might have the impression that the death toll for immigrants illegally crossing our southern border is at an all-time high. Such an impression would be mistaken. During the eight years that Obama was president the annual death toll averaged 372. During the two-and-a-half years that Trump has been president the annual death toll has averaged 291—that's a decline of more than 20% from the death rate during the Obama years. Immigration expert Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) cautioned us "to look past these bare facts to get the true picture. During the...

It used to be that this whole “Ilhan Omar married her brother” thing was considered a “right-wing conspiracy.” No one in the MSM would touch it, and everyone just brushed it off as some “racist” attack against a poor innocent refugee. Well, local news outlets have been digging… and more information pops up that indicates that not only did she likely marry her brother… she’s committed both tax and immigration fraud. As I mentioned yesterday, President Trump said he hoped someone would “look into it.” Well, Tucker delivered: “David Steinberg spent a decade as PJ Media’s New York editor. He...
