Since 2000, up to 104 people have been charged with an HIV-related crime in Maryland, according to a new report by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law. The state’s HIV-related criminal laws are disproportionately enforced based on gender and race. Black people, and Black men in particular, are overrepresented in HIV-related crimes. Black people make up 30% of Maryland’s population, 71% of people living with HIV, and 82% of HIV-related criminal cases. GOP presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday directed $1 million to bolster security at a historically Black college near the site of what authorities deemed a racially motivated shooting that killed three Black people at a Dollar General in Jacksonville over the weekend. Dr. Anthony Fauci has an important message for Black Americans: get a booster shot. In a recent interview with TheGrio, Fauci, who is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, urged the Black community to get a Covid booster shot in preparation of the fall surge, when the Covid infection rates are expected to rise. A BLM activist has been charged over a huge fraud which is said to have included blowing a grant intended for young men at risk of violence on trips to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Shake Shack and a nail salon. A Prince William County, Virginia, woman shot and killed an allegedly armed, masked man who approached her front door on Thursday. The Associated Press reports the woman was leaving her home when she noticed the masked man approaching. The woman had a gun and shot the man, fatally wounding him. Juneteenth celebrations in Oakland, California; Aurora, Colorado; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Clover, South Carolina; and Flint, Michigan, were marred by shootings and death. A woman was arrested for setting her husband’s car on fire in a parking lot in Ohio, United States, because it was dirty and had a faulty wheel. Google has been seeking facial scans of people with 'darker skin' as part of its efforts to improve the company's facial scan software. The company has sent out teams of temp workers, hired through the staffing agency Randstad, to scan people's faces in exchange for $5 gift cards. Workers for the program said they were directed to target homeless people and college students.

Brooklyn firefighter Clyde Phillips was axed Wednesday after his third arrest stemming from charges of domestic violence, The Post has learned.
