A fan fell to his death Friday night while trying to do a flip on the balcony at Citi Field stadium at a Dead & Company concert in New York. During intermission at around 9 pm, the man, a Brooklyn resident in his 40s, fell about 30 to 50 feet landing on concrete, police said. An Austin man died after hitting his head while trying to do a backflip near the lakeshore in the Gold Coast neighborhood, authorities said. Terrence Mauldin was with his 23-year-old nephew when he attempted a backflip off a three-foot-high retaining wall south of North Avenue Beach around 7:20 p.m., police said. Mauldin landed head-first on the concrete, according to police.

I heard today that a great young American motorcyclist, Racer, and "X game" Champion died after failing to complete a "Hart Attack" backflip in Costa Rica.
