A frail-looking Bill Clinton called out “young Arab Americans” in a hoarse defense of Israel’s deadly war against Hamas in Gaza during a stump speech in Michigan — a swing state with a large Arab population, which has made Israel policy a major issue. “The hardest issue here in Michigan is the Middle East,” Clinton, 78, shakily told the crowd at a “Souls to the Polls” event in Muskegon Heights in western Michigan Wednesday morning, according to Michigan Live. “I understand why young Palestinians and Arab Americans here in Michigan think too many people have died. I get that,” he...

Former President Donald Trump campaigned in Michigan on Friday with the Arab American mayor who previously endorsed him. Trump visited the city of Hamtramck, and was seen campaigning with Hamtramck Mayor Ameer Ghalib during a press conference. Ghalib noted that the Democrat Party was trying to “scare” legal second and third-generation immigrants in the Arab American and Muslim-American community that Trump was coming to “deport them.”

People keep asking me why Arab American citizens are moving toward voting for Trump. My answer? They are already Trump supporters – and enthusiastic ones. But they aren’t registered to vote and keep telling us they don’t know where or how to vote. My husband and I started the Conservative American Middle Eastern PAC – or CAM PAC – in October 2024 after a Trump supporting friend told us how much he was hurting financially but that he still wasn’t registered to vote. Seeing this gap in Republican outreach to register Middle Eastern Americans, we couldn’t wait for someone else...

Over the weekend I wrote about recently hints that the Harris campaign might be in trouble in Michigan, a swing state they need to win next month. One of the issues that has Democrats in the state feeling nervous is the ongoing Israeli-Hamas war. As one Lebanese activist told Reuters, Harris was going to lose a lot of votes over the Biden administration's stance."Harris is going to lose Michigan," said Ali Dagher, a Lebanese American attorney and community leader. "I will not be voting for Kamala Harris. No one I know will vote for her. I cannot find a single...

Voters with an Arab heritage could tank Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances of carrying the 31 combined Electoral College votes in the key battlegrounds of Michigan and Georgia. Arab American voters, who typically vote for Democrats by a 2-to-1 ratio, are not so fond of Harris following the administration’s handling of the Hamas/Israel war that spread into Lebanon this month, drawing in the Iranian proxy terrorist organization of Hezbollah. A recent Arab American Institute poll showed former President Trump leading Harris among Arab voters by four points nationally. In 2020, President Joe Biden won 60 percent of their votes.

The Democrat mayor of a Michigan community with a large population of Arab Americans endorsed former President Donald Trump, saying he is the “right choice” during a “critical time.” Ameer Ghalib, who serves as the Mayor of Hamtramck City, admitted in a Facebook post on Sunday that, while he and Trump “may not agree on everything,” Trump is a “man of principles.”

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein leads Vice President Kamala Harris by nearly 18 points with Arab American voters, according to a poll. The poll, conducted by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) and Mo Maraqa, found that 45.3 percent of Arab American voters back Stein for the presidency, placing her almost 18 points above Harris at 27.5 percent. Another 2 percent back former President Donald Trump, and 1.3 percent support Robbery F Kennedy Jr. Of the remaining respondents, 17.9 percent are undecided, and 6 percent will not vote. ADC Executive Director Abed Ayoub shared the poll results to X on...

Arab American leaders from the left and the right of American politics said they were in shock that former president Donald Trump was lightly injured in an apparent assassination attempt against him while he was speaking to a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night. Initial reports and live television showed Trump addressing the rally and he turned his head to the right as he was speaking when three loud gunshots were heard. Trump grabbed his right ear, which was bloodied, as he was brought to the ground and covered completely by four by Secret Service agents. Trump raised his hand...

The Times of Israel reported: The mother of Liri Albag, a 19-year-old female soldier abducted on October 7, shares information about her daughter that she received from Noa Argamani, who was rescued from captivity in Gaza last week. “Noa said that they were slaves, and so were the [female soldiers], including Liri,” Shira Albag says in a statement. “They cleaned the yard,...

Senate Democrats are launching a new investigation into the foreign payments made to Jared Kushner's investment firm. Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden announced the probe on Wednesday, saying that the panel would investigate the billions of dollars that Affinity Partners manages from foreign sources. Kushner started Affinity in July 2021, less than six months after leaving the White House as a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump. The firm quickly attracted big-time investors from the Middle East and within weeks, landed $2 billion from the Saudi public investment fund. Affinity continues to overwhelmingly derive the majority of its...

A candidate running for Senate in New Jersey was ruthlessly goaded on social media after claiming the “climate crisis” was to blame for the Friday earthquake that rocked the tri-state area. Green Party member Christina Amira Khalil shared the controversial message just minutes after the quake, which was the strongest temblor to strike near the Big Apple in 140 years. “I experienced my first earthquake in NJ. We never get earthquakes. The climate crisis is real. The weirdest experience ever,” Khalil wrote on X.

During the pandemic, 7 Investigator Heather Catallo started investigating these allegations. She spent hundreds of hours during the last two years talking with patients, former employees, and mental health experts, and reviewing hundreds of documents. “I’ll never forget it. I’ll never get over it.” That’s how Bri Jackson describes her stay inside a local psychiatric hospital – a stay Bri says never should have happened. “If you would have told me that something like that would happen, I would find it so hard to believe in the United States of America,” said another patient, who asked for anonymity, about their...

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) issued a proclamation on Saturday declaring April as Arab American Heritage Month. Newsom’s statement comes as anti-Israel protests and encampments have sprouted up on university and college campuses across the United States, calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, for the U.S. government to stop arming Israel, and for colleges to divest from Israeli companies. Hamas, a U.S.-designated Islamic terror group attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, leaving 1,200 Israelis dead and more than 200 people taken as hostages.

The Democratic superlawyer who resigned in disgrace from the #MeToo organization Time's Up after helping former New York governor Andrew Cuomo (D.) discredit his accusers is now defending Columbia University against a lawsuit alleging that it fosters a pervasive culture of anti-Semitism. Roberta Kaplan filed notice last month to represent Columbia and its sister college, Barnard, against lawsuits that accuse school leaders of enabling an "antisemitic hostile educational environment" in the wake of Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel. Students Against Antisemitism and a group of five Columbia students allege that school leaders have turned a blind eye as anti-Semitic activists...

On Monday’s broadcast of “CNN NewsNight,” former DNC chair and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean stated that while he admires President Joe Biden approaching foreign policy based on what’s best for the country, “I do think, however, that he is moving towards a position” that is “probably more to the liking of Arab Americans.” Dean said, “I think Netanyahu has always tried to push things his way. I think relationships with the United States, particularly with the Democrats, started to slide downhill when Netanyahu addressed the Congress at the invitation of the Republicans without bothering to consult with President Obama,...

One of President Biden’s top advisers told fuming Arab and Muslim American community leaders in Michigan this week that the administration has made “missteps” in its support for Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. “We are very well aware that we have missteps in the course of responding to this crisis since Oct. 7,” Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer said during a Thursday meeting in Dearborn, Mich., with Muslim and Arab Americans, including state and local Democratic elected officials, according to the New York Times. “We have left a very damaging impression based on what has been a...

When I was a kid growing up in the Warrendale section of Detroit in the 1970s, the Polish presence was everywhere. Warren Avenue was "the Strip" of our turf, and it was littered with family businesses with difficult names like the Jarzembowski Funeral Home. There was the Kozy Korner, with Kozy being short for a name I can't begin to spell. ... A good friend I grew up with, whom I'll call Hoppy, remained in Warrendale until 2015 and only moved after some gang-bangers took a potshot at him as he was shoveling snow. In true Detroit style, he snarled...
