Evanston, Ill., is a suburb of 75,000 residents directly north of the city of Chicago. Aside from being the home of Northwestern University and the birthplace of dozens of famous actors, including Bill Murray, the city is known as just an extension of Chicago. Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele and former Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Okla.) demanded an apology from new Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean for his remark, "You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here." According to Steele, the remark is "insensitive" and demonstrates a belief by the leader of the Democratic Party that only blacks are hotel workers, when indeed a majority of hotel workers are white. In an unauthorized biography, "State of a Union: Inside the Complex Marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton," former National Enquirer reporter Jerry Oppenheimer accuses Hillary of referring to Bill Clinton's former campaign manager as "a (bleeping) Jew bastard."
