Roger Stone posted an Instagram story Sunday afternoon calling for former CIA Director John Brennan to be hung for treason. “This psycho must be charged, tried, convicted" the provocateur and Republican operative wrote, below which he placed a photo of Brennan and then added, "and hung for treason,” The post was removed by Instagram soon after it was posted, with the company saying it "violated our Community Guidelines." Former White House counsel Gregory Craig will go to trial in August to face charges of lying to investigators who were working for special counsel Robert Mueller, a federal judge in Washington, D.C., said Friday.Craig, who worked under former President Obama from 2009-2010, is scheduled to begin his trial at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 12, according to court filings first reported by The New York Times. Decision at link. A federal court judge on Wednesday threw out Paul Manafort's plea agreement. According to the judge, when Manafort entered the agreement, he said he would "cooperate fully, truthfully, completely and forthrightly with the government," but he broke that agreement when he lied to special counselor Robert Mueller. Judge Amy Berman Jackson said that Manafort "intentionally made multiple false statements to the FBI, the OSC [office of the special counsel] and the grand jury concerning matters that were material to the investigation."
