Morton Abramowitz and Heather Hurlburt are right to urge strong U.S. involvement to help resolve the festering problem of Kosovo ["Where to Start With Europe," op-ed, Dec. 23]. They, however, do not go far enough. Any settlement of the situation in Serbia must include the province of Vojvodina.

In an interview with The Today Show's Matt Lauer, Madeleine Albright just completed a scathing attack on the policy of the Bush administration in Iraq and Afghanistan. Highlights: She understood the "why" but not the "why now" of the war on Saddam. He was not "an imminent threat." This was a war "of choice, of American dominance." She agreed with the tenor of the op-ed piece in yesterday's NY Times to the effect that while there was no Iraq-Al Qaeda link before the war, there is now.
