Heather Stilwell, the former chair of the Surrey School Board who led a contentious fight to ban books on same-sex couples, has died of breast cancer. She was 66. A fierce anti-abortionist, and supporter of Christian family values, Stilwell served on the Surrey School Board for 15 years.
