American universities rank among the best in the world, but they also boast another, more dubious distinction: They are home to some of the world’s most radical academics. The United States has spent a record of at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since the war in Gaza began and led to escalating conflict around the Middle East, according to a report for Brown University’s Costs of War project, released on the anniversary of Hamas’ attacks on Israel. On Nov. 10, The Federalist Society invited journalist and founder of The Free Press Bari Weiss to deliver the Barbara K. Olsen Memorial Address at their national convention. Weiss, by her own admission, was taken aback by the invitation as she is not a lawyer and she considers herself a liberal. But Barbara Olsen was a political commentator whom Weiss respected. She was also a passenger aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which was flown into the Pentagon by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.
