Multiple people are dead and one officer is wounded after a shooting outside of Portland, Oregon, on Sunday, police said. One suspect has been arrested, and police don't believe any ongoing threat exists for the surrounding community. Three people were killed, CBS affiliate KOIN reported, citing court documents. The suspect, identified by law enforcement as Bryan Andrew Moore, faces charges including three counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree kidnapping. A Target store in a Minneapolis suburb cordoned off a hallway with six changing rooms, seemingly to convert at least part of the space into a Muslim prayer area. The store is located in Apple Valley, Minnesota, which is just south of the Twin Cities. A concerned customer recently photographed the repurposed area and sent the photos to Alpha News. The pictures show retractable belts sectioning off both sides of the hallway, as well as a sign on one of the doors that said 'RAMADAN MUBARAK,' which is a traditional Arabic greeting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Donald Trump's administration has told the UK to "reject two-tier policing" as the US sent its condolences to Henry Nowak's family. The State Department, which is headed up by Marco Rubio, released a 41-word statement on Nowak's murder on social media. In the statement, the State Department said: "Ideological conditioning and two-tiered policing are glaring symptoms of civilisational decline. "They must be rejected across the West. The United States sends our condolences to the family of Henry Nowak and the people of the United Kingdom at this troubling time."

An American who worked as an editor and commentator for state-run media in China, Thomas Pauken II, pleaded guilty Thursday to working as an unregistered agent for the Chinese government in the U.S. During a roughly 40-minute hearing in Alexandria, Virginia, Pauken, 51, told U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema he was unaware of the legal requirement to register before acting for a foreign government, but he also said he understood that his lack of knowledge was not a defense to the charge.

LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. — A judge on Thursday dismissed the murder case against candidate for Lonoke County Sheriff Aaron Spencer. Spencer had been charged in 2024 with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Michael Fosler. According to case filings, Spencer shot Fosler after spotting the man driving his daughter. Fosler, at the time, was released on bond after being accused of raping Spencer’s underage daughter in July of 2024.
