State Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta said Monday that he anticipates the Trump administration, which last week announced plans to use federal election monitors in California, will use false reports of voting irregularities to challenge the results of the Nov. 4 special election.Bonta, California's top law enforcement officer, said on a call with reporters that he is “100%” concerned about false accusations of wrongdoing at the polling places. During an interview with CNN aired on Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Story Is,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said that New York City mayoral candidate Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani (D) isn’t bad for the Democratic Party and responded to a question on if democratic socialism belongs in the Democratic Party by saying the party needs to be a bigger tent and “you can disagree on certain issues. But when we fundamentally believe in the values of growth and inclusion and we believe in social justice, racial justice, economic justice, the things that bind us together, I think we’re all better...

In the new method, researchers from the University of Texas at Austin fired infrared light, a type of light invisible to the eye, from LED bulbs at test tubes that contained human skin cancer or colon cancer cells and healthy human skin cells. The tubes also contained nanoscopic flakes of tin oxide, or SnOx nanoflakes, which were absorbed by the cancer cells. The scientists found that when the light was fired at the cells, the nanoscopic flakes absorbed it and heated up, turning into 'microscopic heaters' that damaged cancer cells and caused them to die, while leaving the healthy cells...

(The Epoch Times)—More than 5,600 flights across the United States were delayed on Oct. 27 primarily due to air traffic controller staffing shortages, as the federal government shutdown entered its fourth week. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said ground delay programs were put in place at major airports like Newark Airport in New Jersey, Austin Airport in Texas, and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Flights in the southeast have also experienced delays due to significant staffing shortages at the Atlanta Terminal Radar Approach Control, which oversees much of the region’s air traffic, according to the FAA. The agency cited air traffic...

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEXSTAR) — The New York State Assembly Housing Committee held a public hearing in Albany on Tuesday to examine how municipalities outside of New York City can opt into laws that regulate rent, services, leases, and evictions to keep housing attainable. The hearing centered on the Rent Emergency Stabilization for Tenants Act (S4659A/A4877A), a proposed bill that could make it easier and less expensive to enact better tenant protections. Proponents of the REST Act—including tenants, local elected officials, and legal experts—testified that current state law is flawed and easy for landlords to manipulate. Climate deniers use scientific aesthetics to reinforce and legitimize their message. At the same time, their main opponents, the climate activists, are portrayed as emotional and irrational. This has been demonstrated by researchers from the Universities of Gothenburg and Amsterdam, who have studied how climate deniers communicate online. "Disinformation is not just about incorrect facts, but about how these facts look and feel. In today's digital media landscape, messages are spread through images, memes and visual narratives that influence us in an instant, before we even have time to think. By understanding the aesthetic logic behind climate denial, we can...

In what at first glance seems to be nothing more than just a saccharine, sentimental display of performed outrage and feigning victimhood, Zohran Mamdani, the New York City Mayoral candidate slated to become the Big Apple’s first Muslim mayor, instead pitched a dangerous performance that can only be described as a subtle incitement to elicit Muslim rage and resentment against the United States of America. In an address to his constituents on Friday, October 24, Mamdani listed a tearful bevy of indignities that Muslims faced in America in the wake of the Islamic attack against the United States on September...
