Conversation Breanna Morello @BreannaMorello Back in July, a Middle Eastern man followed me while I was walking my dog. He snuck up behind me and entered my apartment complex. After I repeatedly told him to leave, he became coming up the stairs and towards me. He only left after he allegedly saw a “black pistol.” Police questioned me about a potential firearm and I refused to answer without an attorney. He has not been criminally charged. Plano PD waited weeks to investigate even after I pleaded with them to ID him. Obtaining the surveillance footage was a fight. I had...

PARIS (AP) — Legislators toppled France’s government in a confidence vote on Monday, a new crisis for Europe’s second-largest economy that obliges President Emmanuel Macron to search for a fourth prime minister in 12 months. Prime Minister François Bayrou was ousted overwhelmingly in a 364-194 vote against him. Bayrou paid the price for what appeared to be a staggering political miscalculation, gambling that lawmakers would back his view that France must slash public spending to rein in its debts. Instead, they seized on the vote that Bayrou called to gang up against the 74-year-old centrist who was appointed by Macron...

A new taxpayer-funded study shows just how far the medical establishment will go to make sure Americans fall in line with the COVID vaccine agenda. Titled “Different Vaccination Debunking Interventions,” the newly published paper isn’t about developing safer vaccines, studying side effects, or investigating long-term risks. Instead, researchers (with significant conflicts of interest with big pharma) wanted to learn how to convince skeptical Americans to get several COVID-19 shots. The University of Pennsylvania researchers earned praise from the media for uncovering the “best ways to debunk COVID vaccine misinformation,” particularly among the vaccine hesitant. There’s a clear conflict of interest...

Money laundering isn’t new — and neither is China’s role in it. Millennia ago, Chinese merchants developed schemes to “clean” the profits of commercial trade and avoid taxation. Today, their successors are doing much the same. Only now, they’re laundering billions through the U.S. financial system and fueling one of the deadliest fentanyl-fueled drug crises in American history. In a step in the right direction, the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (known as FinCEN) issued a sweeping advisory on Aug. 28 warning that Chinese money laundering networks now represent “one of the most significant money laundering threat actors facing...

I used to tease my parents that if they started eating dinner at 4:30 or 5 p.m., it was the first official sign of old age. And because they have a good sense of humor, whenever they would hop out for an early bird special, they would call me from the restaurant to say, “It’s 5 p.m. and we’re having dinner!”While it’s no surprise that there are plenty of retirees and parents with little kids who dive into their dinners before many people have wrapped up work, that’s starting to shift. Younger people, particularly Gen Z-ers, are getting on board...
