WASHINGTON — President Trump is moving to cancel nearly $5 billion in congressionally approved foreign aid and peacekeeping spending in a rare “pocket rescission,” The Post has learned — making use of a legally debated maneuver that hasn’t been done in 48 years. Trump on Thursday night notified Congress of his request to cancel the funds, which had been tied up in a court case until earlier in the day. A pocket rescission is a request that’s presented to Congress so late in the fiscal year — which ends Sept. 30 — that it’s made regardless of whether Congress acts....

Phillips 66 will begin shutting down its 139,000 bpd Los Angeles-area refinery as soon as next week , sources told Reuters, moving forward on a closure plan announced last year. Units at the plant will idle in phases through Q4 2025, with the facility permanently offline by year-end. The decision isn’t a surprise—Phillips 66 said in October it would exit the site, citing “market dynamics.” But it comes with fallout about 600 employees and 300 contractors will lose their jobs by December, with only a handful reassigned to the company’s marine terminal. The company insists it will support workers through...

An NPR host issued a clarification Wednesday after Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., referred to the Annunciation Catholic School shooter in Minneapolis as a "he" during an interview with the outlet. In an interview with NPR host Ailsa Chang, conducted hours after the killings, Klobuchar used male pronouns to refer to the deceased shooter. After the interview ended, Chang noted the gender of the shooter was "unclear."

In an interview with CNN, Ambassador Yechiel Leiter says his son was killed in Gaza because Israel avoids harming civilians: “If we were doing what we're accused of, maybe he'd be alive today.” Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, was interviewed by CNN’s Jake Tapper, underscoring the unprecedented challenges the IDF faces and the moral calculus guiding its operations. “You got to ask yourself a question,” Leiter said. “A country that's capable of taking out the control of all of Iranian airspace in 72 hours, allowing for the B-2s of the United States to come in and obliterate...

The Leftwing Propaganda Media Vows, "We Will Never Know the Trans Shooter's Motive" They just will not accept that members of the left are capable of hate crimes, or than anyone not on the left can be the victim of a hate crime. Therefore James Hodgkinson's shooting up of Republicans at a baseball game was just an attempt at "suicide by cop." An Islamist's shooting up of soldiers is just "workplace violence." And despite this trans terrorist decorating his guns with "Kill Donald Trump" and an evil mocking declaration "for the children" -- the bullets are, he meant -- the...

I’m putting that irrefutable statement of fact in a headline, because I haven’t seen it anywhere else.Yesterday in Minnesota, a man who claimed to be a woman shot up a Catholic church full of children. He wasn’t a “trans woman,” let alone a woman. He was a man. A very crazy man.A lot of mainstream “news” outlets don’t want you to say that. And if you insist on pointing out the truth, they’re eager to brand you a bigot. “We may never know why the tranny spree killer, who left behind a manifesto, shot all those people. It was probably...

Earlier today, during the opening Mass at Annunciation Catholic school in Minneapolis, a 23 year old man shot numerous children and adults before killing himself. Among those killed was an 8 year old and a 10 year old. Three adults and fourteen children were then taken to the local trauma center, some in critical condition. What is the role of a priest and nun in such situations? Let’s consider biological parents before we look at spiritual fatherhood and motherhood. When a child is hurt, it is the job of a mother to comfort her children. However, a father is called...

Democrats are hell-bent on digging in on the wrong side of every 80-20 or even 99-1 issue affecting the American people. Karoline Leavitt is delivering a strong message on one of those issues - crime in big, blue cities such as Washington, D.C., Chicago, or New York City. That message is intended for those who genuinely believe in a resistance party that assures them everything is fine and crime is not a problem. "Nothing to see here. Please disperse," as Leslie Nielsen famously said in the movie "The Naked Gun." The White House press secretary addressed those misinformed souls directly...

Yesterday, We wrote about Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson's race-baiting outburst about the possibility of a federal crackdown on crime in his city. If you missed that go back and look because in hindsight the reporter's question seems prescient. Basically, Johnson was asked if it might not be better not to thumb his nose in President Trump's face as he was considering what city ICE would visit next. Today there are reports that a crackdown in Chicago appears to be coming, maybe as soon as next week. The Trump administration is making plans for an immigration crackdown in Chicago that would involve...

Illegal alien MS-13 gang member and wife beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia is now trying to obtain a gag order against DHS Chief Kristi Noem and US Attorney General Pam Bondi. A federal grand jury in Tennessee recently indicted Kilmar Abrego Garcia for “transporting undocumented migrants within the United States.” He was charged with one count of conspiracy to transport aliens and one count of unlawful transportation of undocumented aliens. Abrego Garcia’s lawyers asked Nashville-based US District Judge Waverly Crenshaw, an Obama appointee, to impose a gag order on Bondi and Noem so he could have a ‘fair trial.’

Last week a judge in Miami ordered the shut down of the detention site known as Alligator Alcatraz. U.S. District Judge Kathleen M. Williams entered a preliminary injunction to prevent the installation of any additional industrial-style lighting and any site expansion. Her ruling further prevents “bringing any additional persons ... who were not already being detained at the site at the time of this order.”...Within 60 days, “and once the population attrition allows for safe implementation of this Order,” the facility must also remove “all generators, gas, sewage, and other waste and waste receptacles that were installed to support this...

Dozens of CDC employees turned a "clap-out" for fired and resigning members of the CDC hierarchy into an impromptu walkout to protest the change of policies imposed by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Particularly bold were those who shook hands with the former "monkeypox czar," without knowing where that appendage had recently been. The event was the culmination of the tumultuous 30-day reign of CDC Director Susan Monarez, during which she made it abundantly clear that she was not interested in collaborating with RFK, Jr., on his "MAHA" agenda. Once it became clear that Monarez was out and CDC...

It’s time to call a spade a spadeThe notion that the Fed is some kind of sterling institution needs to be put to bed. This is particularly true of the Powell Fed which has experienced multiple scandals involving criminal activity. The fact that no one went to jail because “laws are for little people” doesn’t absolve the Fed.Let’s wind back the clocks.During the pandemic, when millions of people were losing their jobs, despairing of their futures, and terrified of dying, senior Fed officials were making MILLIONS of dollars trading on insider information based on Fed policy decisions.Specifically, three Fed Presidents,...
