Earlier today, during the opening Mass at Annunciation Catholic school in Minneapolis, a 23 year old man shot numerous children and adults before killing himself. Among those killed was an 8 year old and a 10 year old. Three adults and fourteen children were then taken to the local trauma center, some in critical condition.
What is the role of a priest and nun in such situations? Let’s consider biological parents before we look at spiritual fatherhood and motherhood. When a child is hurt, it is the job of a mother to comfort her children. However, a father is called to both comfort his children and to guide them on how to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
As a spiritual father, my article here is not to finger-point, but rather to warn that tragedies like today’s shooting can somewhat (not entirely) be avoided by teaching the true Catholic faith. As you will soon read, the shooter and his mother were baptized Catholics at the very parish where the shooting took place.

Americanism really is a secular faith for a lot of people. That it could substitute for a religious belief is an incredibly dangerous idea.

The Church sees massive immigration to the US as a way to save the Church here in America, yet the open borders of Biden is destroying the country.
The Church is forcing the Faithful, people like me, lifelong Catholics, to choose between their country and the current structure of the Church.
The problems the Church is facing is not doctrinal but cultural, and the Church of today is on the wrong side.
I choose my Faith AND my country, and let the current crop of political issues of today’s Church determine themselves.
There is great strength in conservative tradition.
This is why Islam is kicking ass all over Western Civilization, while the Church turns the altars around, has guitar players during Communion, with everybody shaking hands and touching the Consecrated Host with their hands (a mortal sin when I was young).
Leave the Latin Mass alone, in fact celebrate those communicants, cut out the nonsense and return to Christ.

There is only One Church and that does not promote the gender wackadoodleness.
There are definitely sinners in the Church. Actually all of us are sinners. And some who disobey church doctrine, yes, but ultimately we are all Catholics, those obedient and those not.
