Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told a Daily Caller News Foundation reporter to “f*** off” after asking her a question about Democrats traveling to El Salvador to advocate on behalf of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. “I think you should f*** off,” Omar responded to the question. “You should f*** off,” she emphasized. “Who should?” reporter Myles Morell asked. “You!” she answered.

I used to play the guitar but broke my wrist, ruptured a tendon, other life events, and quit. I kept the gear (2 Gibsons, a Fender and a Martin, with amps.) I'm relearning, but from a different tact. I formerly simply learned songs without realizing any principles or theory. Now I'm starting by learning scales. Am pentatonic, for starters. Question: I know this scale works with songs written in Am, but I also read that the Am pentatonic scale also works in A major. The only difference is the root note. Am I understanding this correctly?

President Donald Trump late Thursday announced plans to designate May 8 as World War II "Victory Day" in the United States, which coincides with the "Victory in Europe Day" that has been celebrated in most of Europe since the Germans surrendered in 1945. -snip- "We won both Wars, nobody was close to us in terms of strength, bravery, or military brilliance, but we never celebrate anything," the president wrote. "That’s because we don’t have leaders anymore, that know how to do so! We are going to start celebrating our victories again!"

An airfield belonging to Russian forces in occupied Crimea has been left in flames after a devastating Ukrainian drone strike, according to reports. Footage shared online purportedly shows the fire at Kacha airfield following a huge round of strikes from Kyiv's forces. Reports suggest Ukraine launched a massive aerial bombardment overnight on the Ukrainian peninsula, which has been occupied by Russian forces since 2014 and illegally annexed by Moscow. Loud explosions were heard near the Saky airfield in Novofedorivka, as well as at the Belbek air base near Sevastopol. A missile base in the Hvardiiske area was also reported to...

White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller told reporters during a briefing Thursday morning: "You all choose to live in condos or homes or houses as far away from these kinds of gang bangers as you possibly can... And yet you, with your coverage, are trying to force innocent Americans to have these people as their neighbors." STEPHEN MILLER: We talk about due process. The Biden administration made the decision to give extensive due process to two Tren de Aragua terrorists who were apprehended at the border just a couple of years ago. Two gentlemen from Venezuela, members of...

Felipe Hoyos Foronda was arrested before he could board a flight at JFK. Felipe Hoyos Foronda, 37, reportedly told authorities he “panicked” after a woman died during a botched plastic surgery procedure he was unlicensed to perform in the United States. “I panicked, I went straight to the airport. I booked the flight while I was driving,” he allegedly told detectives as he was arrested moments away from boarding a flight at JFK airport to Florida en route to Colombia. Queens Assistant District Attorney Gregory Lasak Jr. told the courts on Monday that Foronda attempted to flee the country “so...

On Thursday’s broadcast of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) reacted to President Donald Trump’s announcement of secondary sanctions on purchasers of Iranian oil by stating that he generally supports pressuring the regime and “there is bipartisan support for increasing pressure to get Iran to the table, to try and get back into a more comprehensive deal, one that doesn’t have sunsets, one that includes some of their secondary support for terrorist proxies in the region, particularly, including the Houthis and their ballistic missile program.” Co-host Kailey Leinz asked, “Well, and as we consider the issues your committee...

Beyond the financial damage imposed by woke is the negative effect on the performance of corporations and governments in the U.S. as well as the country as a whole. Let’s separate the facts from the fiction with respect to the damage caused by wokism. Woke, which includes ESG, DEI, climate change, and other wasteful, misguided and discriminatory initiatives, has caused billions and probably trillions of dollars in damages in the U.S. Woke is a creation of the Marxist Left. After failing to gain traction through labor in the U.S. over many years, the Marxist Left turned to the issue of...

Germany's Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party has been designated as right-wing extremist by the country's federal office for the protection of the constitution. "The ethnicity- and ancestry-based understanding of the people prevailing within the party is incompatible with the free democratic order," the domestic intelligence agency said in a statement. The AfD came second in federal elections in February, winning a record 152 seats in the 630-seat parliament with 20.8% of the vote. The parliament, or Bundestag, will hold a vote next week to confirm conservative leader Friedrich Merz as chancellor, heading a coalition with the centre-left Social Democrats. The...

Have these persons forgotten the claim of infallibility put forth for eight hundred years by this haughty power? So far from being relinquished, this claim was affirmed in the nineteenth century with greater positiveness than ever before. As Rome asserts that the “church never erred; nor will it, according to the Scriptures, ever err” (John L. von Mosheim, Institutes of Ecclesiastical History, book 3, century II, part 2, chapter 2, section 9, note 17), how can she renounce the principles which governed her course in past ages? The papal church will never relinquish her claim to infallibility. All that she...

“‘. . . so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous’” (Matthew 5:45). God Himself is love, and the best evidence that we are His children through faith in Jesus Christ is our love for other believers. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35; cf. 1 John 4:20). Our divine sonship is further evidenced when love leads us to pray...

Having abandoned objective reporting, the mainstream media’s refusal to adopt a neutral stance on climate change has transformed a complex scientific debate into a monolithic narrative of impending catastrophe. Far from being impartial arbiters, media outlets are enthusiastic propagandists recycling doomsday predictions that consistently fail to materialize while ignoring a wealth of scientific research that challenges the narrative of disastrous warming. This isn’t journalism; it is activism disguised as truth telling. The result? A global populace misled, policymakers swayed by fiction, and developing nations shackled by energy policies that prioritize “green” ideology over human well-being. Lies, more Lies and PanicVirtually...

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1. Purpose. National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) receive taxpayer funds through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Unlike in 1967, when the CPB was established, today the media landscape is filled with abundant, diverse, and innovative news options. Government funding of news media in this environment is not only outdated and unnecessary but corrosive to the appearance of journalistic independence. At the very least, Americans have the right to expect...

Commenters here often ask how I can be so crazy as to live in Manhattan. I’m not saying they don’t have a point, but living in Manhattan can also have its advantages. One of those is access to some fantastic cultural offerings. I have mentioned in the side bar from time to time that I sing in a choir, and I have periodically posted announcement of concerts. A few readers have even come to concerts and introduced themselves. But I recognize that not that many readers are in a position to make it to the concerts in person. Well, here’s...

In response to ongoing concerns about Boeing’s delays, President Donald J. Trump has asked L3Harris Technologies to provide an interim presidential aircraft by the end of the year, according to The Wall Street Journal. This decision marks a significant change in how presidential flights will be handled. Boeing, which was awarded a $3.9 billion contract to deliver two next-generation Air Force One aircraft, has fallen significantly behind schedule by years and is now billions of dollars over budget. Trump’s newly selected contractor, L3Harris, headquartered in Melbourne, Florida, is tasked with retrofitting a previously Qatari-owned Boeing 747 as a temporary command...

House and Senate Democrats on Tuesday reintroduced the Equality Act, a landmark civil rights bill that would make sexual orientation and gender identity protected classes. The measure, which would amend a federal law that already outlaws discrimination based on race, religion, sex and national origin, faces an uphill battle in a Congress controlled by Republicans, who have long opposed it over concerns it would trample religious freedom rights.
