Two service members have been denied religious exemptions to the flu vaccine and are at risk of being forced out of the military after they previously fought the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. A service member in the Marine Corps and another in the Air Force are facing separation from their respective military branches after submitting Religious Accommodation Requests (RARs) for the flu shot. Both men objected to the COVID vaccine mandate under the Biden administration and ultimately kept their jobs, but they may lose them under President Trump despite the routine approval of religious exemptions for vaccines before COVID. Michigan dentist Kent Wildern has filed a lawsuit against Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer's administration, challenging the state's mandate requiring health care professionals to complete ideological training to keep their licenses. "It is unconstitutional for Michigan to weaponize its licensing powers to force healthcare professionals to choose between their careers and submitting to ideological indoctrination," Wildern's attorney, Wilson Freeman of the Pacific Legal Foundation, wrote in a Tuesday press release. "Moreover, Michigan's mandate for implicit bias training came from an unelected agency rather than the legislature, sidestepping any public debate on the issue," the attorney added. Wildern's lawsuit comes as President...

In the coming days, cardinals from every corner of the Catholic world will begin the process of electing a successor. The U.S. Constitution mentions an archaic, oddly-named privilege called the writ of habeas corpus in its Article I, Section 9, Clause 2. Let’s read Clause 2 together: “The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.” President Lincoln partially suspended the writ in certain key military corridors during the Civil War. It led to a showdown with the Supreme Court in a famous case called Ex parte Merryman. Merryman, who lived in Maryland, was arrested by the U.S. military in May, 1861, for...

A jury has found Nadine Menendez guilty in her federal bribery trial, following the conviction of her husband, former New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez, on similar crimes. Prosecutors argued the two were "partners in crime" while accusing them of accepting cash, gold bars and a luxury car in exchange for political favors. The defense argued there was no proof Nadine Menendez was involved in the scheme her husband was found guilty of perpetrating. Jurors began deliberating Friday afternoon before reaching their verdict Monday afternoon. She will be sentenced in June, the same month her husband is due to report to...

Archaeologists have uncovered the ruins of an ancient Egyptian town dating back 3,400 years near the city of Alexandria, according to a recent study published in Antiquity. The researchers from the French National Centre for Scientific Research have theorized that the mud-brick settlement was likely founded during Egypt‘s 18th Dynasty (ca. 1550 BCE–1292 BCE), due to the presence of items bearing an amphora stamp with the name Merytaton. Merytaton was the daughter of the pharaoh Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti and the sibling of Tutankhamun, better known as King Tut. The Newport Beach, California-based fast-casual chain announced on Monday that it is expanding into Mexico in a partnership with Alsea, a leading restaurant operator in Latin America and Europe. Chipotle will attempt to succeed where other U.S.-based Mexican food chains have failed. Taco Bell famously tried twice to expand into Mexico, first in the 1990s and again in the mid-2000s, only to see its last Mexico location close in 2010. Taco Bell’s inability to gain traction in Mexico was chalked up to pricing issues and a perceived lack of authenticity, including menu items that didn’t translate especially well.

VIDEOWatch this incredibly eerie interview in which a pair of Australian twins speak in perfect unison during most of a news interview about a carjacking incident. After watching most viewers, myself included, will be convinced that twins possess amazing ESP powers, or Twin Telepathy, that often allow them to speak in harmony. However, there was something strangely familiar about that interview when you think about the news media also speaking in harmony as you can also see here. The main difference is that for the twins, this ability comes naturally and for the news media it is as if they...

We’ve all watched the way paying for things has changed over the years. First it was coins, then cards, then phones and smartwatches. But now, it looks like the next big step is… you. Literally. It might sound futuristic, but this is already in the works here in Spain. Banks and big-name retailers are gearing up for pilot programmes as soon as 2026, and if all goes well, we’ll be seeing biometric...

When Melissa G. Moore came home one afternoon in the spring of 1995, her mother Rose Hucke took her and her two younger siblings aside.
