Trump upends DOJ's Civil Rights Division, sparking 'bloodbath' in senior ranks
NBC News ^ | April 23, 2025 | Ken Dilanian

More than a dozen senior lawyers — many with decades of experience working under presidents of both parties — have been reassigned, the current and former officials say. Some have resigned in frustration after they were moved to less desirable roles unrelated to their expertise, according to the sources.

“It’s been a complete bloodbath,” said a senior Justice Department lawyer in the division who is not authorized to speak publicly...

The managerial jobs vacated in recent weeks have not been filled, so the traditional work of the division has all but stopped.

This article details some excellent changes in DOJ in the Civil Rights Division.

A bunch of evil policies have been stopped.

Now it is time to start some serious indictments of high profile Democrat criminals.

“I resigned. It was a complete bloodbath”, is not a good look...

At DOJ every lawyer thinks they are royalty.

It is a total joke.

” said a senior Justice Department lawyer in the division who is not authorized to speak publicly.”

But, they did anyway. I think this was a great move by the Administration.

“In the first Trump administration, they engaged with us as attorneys. The political appointees were normal lawyers. Sometimes we persuaded them and sometimes they disagreed, but there was always a conversation about why and what the law required. That is not happening.”

This sounds like there was a group of imbedded liberals who ran over relatively weak Trump appointees. Its good that in the second term they are working in ways to avoid being rolled again.

It appears govt employees don’t understand, unlike civilian employees, the concept of employer vs employee.

This reminds me of my first ever summer job.

My father had a friend who was a lawyer who got me a job at a large law firm.

I was taken to the basement of the building.

There was a gigantic dusty room full of thousands and thousands of files randomly stacked from floor to ceiling as far as the eye could see.

These were decades worth of old and dead cases.

My job: Stack all the files neatly in alphabetical order

(and remove any critters I might find....).

I did it by the end of the summer.

That is the kind of work some of these “big shot” DOJ lawyers are doing now.

Lol.

Good news. During the Trump 1.0 the DOJ and especially the civil rights unit actively worked to drive him from office. All them should been fired. It’s dangerous to let any continue to sabotage Trump 2.0.

Yup—Trump 2.0 learned you don’t listen to leftists.

You fire them if you can, assign them crappy and demeaning jobs otherwise.

The truth is that the vast majority of the good cases - the ones with truly clear violations of the civil rights laws - are taken by private lawyers. Attorney fees being awarded to prevailing plaintiffs means that even low dollar value cases still make money for the lawyers.

DOJ generally takes "big" cases that involve a, uh, stretch of the Civil Rights laws.

“Bloodbath” does this mean post-birth abortions were being performed on DOJ Democrats or is the MSM just gaslighting us?
