Daily Readings from the USCCBJesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here.” John 18:36Today, on the final Sunday of our Church year, we celebrate the glorious Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Next Sunday begins Advent. On this day we profess the profound truth that our Lord is King! He is the King of all things. He is King of the Universe. And He...

Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the intelligence community, was “compromised.” Host Dana Bash said, “Let’s turn to former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who the president elect tapped to serve as Director of National Intelligence. She’s a critic of U.S. intelligence operations. She has promoted Russian propaganda. Your fellow Democrat, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, called her, ‘likely a Russian asset.’ Now, you and Tulsi Gabbard are both veterans. You served with her in the House what do you think of her?”

Los Angeles City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martínez says "we will defy Trump's effort to deport any person who has sought sanctuary here. The city of Los Angeles will not be collaborating or using any City resource to enforce his deportation machine. Trump's goons won't be able to land at our airport, drive on our streets, or enter any public building. They will be arrested and put on trial if they ignore these rules." Tom Homan, the person President-Elect Donald Trump has selected to be his "border czar,'' said "nothing will stop us from deporting migrant criminals. These would be people like...

His marriage had fallen apart when his wife discovered his mistress had given birth to his daughter and his divorce was about to cost him millions. His life was teetering on the brink as he turned a little too much to alcohol as a crutch. And that wasn’t the worst of it for Pete Hegseth – Donald Trump’s pick for Defense Secretary – as his life threatened to spiral out of control in 2017. Just weeks later Hegseth, now 44, was accused of groping multiple women and sexually assaulting one as alcohol once again allegedly clouded his judgment. The allegations...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Two weeks before Election Day, activists from across the country gathered for an online rally heralding the historic number of state ballot initiatives seeking to change the way people vote. Hopes were high that voters would ditch traditional partisan primaries and embrace ballots with more candidate choices. Instead, the election reform movement lost almost everywhere it appeared on a statewide ballot. “It turns out, in retrospect, we weren’t yet ready for prime time,” said John Opdycke, president of the advocacy group Open Primaries, which organized the rally. In Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Oregon...

President-elect Donald Trump’s staunchest personal legal defenders are set to transform into his Department of Justice leadership team and will, if confirmed, face their toughest loyalty test yet as they aim to fulfill Trump’s federal law enforcement visions. Trump’s personal lawyers will fill three of the most powerful positions at the DOJ, while former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who defended Trump during his first impeachment, will helm the department as attorney general. Some legal experts say Trump’s gravitation toward loyalists could serve him well, while others have raised caution flags over it. Alan Dershowitz, a Harvard Law School professor...

Spanish MIM-23 HAWK surface-to-air missile systems are currently in Poland, with plans for their transport to Ukraine scheduled for tomorrow, November 24. This follows Spain’s earlier confirmation of preparations to send the systems, making Spain the first country to provide MIM-23 HAWK missiles to Ukraine in 2022, during the initial year of the conflict. Ukrainian sources report that the country is currently operating enhanced HAWK Phase III air defense systems. Despite their age, these systems remain highly effective, thanks to extensive upgrades carried out during the 1990s. The Ukrainian Air Force has showcased the HAWK’s ability to intercept a variety...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed Monday morning after allegedly trying to break into a home in west Tallahassee, according to a Tallahassee Police Department watch commander. A top Russian general, along with 500 North Korean soldiers, have allegedly been killed by British Storm Shadow missiles in a devastating attack. The strike launched by Ukraine on November 20 wiped out Lt-Gen Valery Solodchuk and also resulted with 18 Putin officers reported lost, with a further 18 wounded, it has been claimed. Earlier reports suggested that a Kim Jong-un general had also been left injured in the attack as he commanded troops backing Vladimir Putin's Ukraine invasion. The strike carried out by Ukraine was the first time UK Storm Shadow missiles had been used blast targets deep inside...

A half-dozen U.S. ballistic missiles, fired by Ukraine, slammed into an ammunition depot some 75 miles across the Russian border early Tuesday, setting off further detonations that turned the sky red. The following morning, 10 British-provided cruise missiles pounded the vicinity of a Kremlin-run sanatorium that was apparently used as a military headquarters, smashing one after another in the town of Marino, located in Russia’s Kursk region about 20 miles from the front line there. These two strikes, the first Kyiv launched with Western-supplied missiles after receiving authorization from the U.S. and allies, show the range of military targets now...

ASHINGTON — When Matt Gaetz abruptly withdrew as President-elect Donald Trump’s candidate for attorney general on Thursday, many career attorneys in the Justice Department breathed a sigh of relief. Hours later, though, Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, a longtime loyalist who backed the former president’s lies about the 2020 election and said “horrible” people in the department were trying to make names for themselves by “going after Donald Trump and weaponizing our legal system.” Justice Department attorneys now hope that Trump’s pick for the critical No. 2 position at the department — Todd Blanche, the president-elect’s defense...

At the time The Bedford Incident was produced, Harris was best known as the producer of three of Stanley Kubrick's films. The two parted ways when Kubrick decided to make Dr. Strangelove as a satirical black comedy, rather than a dramatic thriller, but Harris remained focused on developing a serious nuclear confrontation film, and The Bedford Incident was released less than two years after Dr. Strangelove.

Commonly prescribed drugs used to treat high blood pressure have been shown to, over time, wreck the kidneys' ability to filter and purify blood, but exactly how that dangerous side effect unfolded has been a riddle. Researchers say they've solved the mystery. Researchers found that the drugs essentially rewire the kidneys to do something other than the important work of filtering blood. The kidneys start producing more of a hormone called renin; nerve endings grow excessively; cells lining the kidneys' tiny blood vessels get too large; scars form and spread; and inflammation sets in, which "can take a terrible toll...

Special Dispatch to the New-York Times. WASHINGTON; Wednesday, Nov. 23. The Richmond papers of Monday, just received here, contain telegrams from Macon, Ga., dated Saturday. They state that SHERMAN's force was marching rapidly on Macon, and report his advance as having reached the outskirts of the city. They have no hope that COBB's militia will be able to bold Macon. At Griffin we captured a portion of the Legislature. SHERMAN, in his march thus far, spread out his forces, sweeping a wide swathe of devastation and creating universal panic. SHERMAN's other column is reported as moving on Augusta and Milledgeville....

Former Polish Minister Piotr Kulpa says up to half of the US aid to Ukraine was laundered by Ukrainians, and much was given to US Democrats. Maybe that’s why the Democrat lawmakers were waving Ukrainian flags on the House floor? Did anyone really not believe this was happening? In March 2022, the wife of former Ukrainian MP Ihor Kotvitskyi declared 28 million dollars and 1.3 million euros when entering Hungary.
