Capsaicin, the compound in chili peppers which gives them their spicy taste, may become a source of new, natural drugs for the hard-to-treat Mesothelioma type of cancer. Mesothelioma is a very aggressive cancer with very poor survival and limited therapeutic options, commonly, but not always, associated with exposure to asbestos. In this study, the authors demonstrated that treatment of various mesothelioma cell lines covering all mesothelioma subtypes inhibits several biological parameters of transformation. In addition, these results supported an antitumor effect of capsaicin on cisplatin-resistant mesothelioma cells, suggesting that it may enhance therapy by reducing resistance to cisplatin. In recent years, the FBI has become increasingly skilled not at capturing the masterminds of terror but at fabricating their own foes, preying on the vulnerable, the mentally ill, and the socially isolated. What once was a proud institution tasked with the safeguarding of the Republic now finds itself busying thousands of its agents not with countering sophisticated threats to the nation but in entrapping men who, left to their own devices, would likely never muster anything more dangerous than a misguided blog post. Instead of arresting actual dangers to society, the FBI is, with alarming frequency, manufacturing them from...

Denver’s mayor has vowed to shield migrants in his sanctuary city from mass deportation by using local cops and 50,000 residents “stationed at the county line” — calling it a “Tiananmen Square moment.” “More than us having [federal agents] stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston recently told the outlet Denverite — after President-elect Donald Trump vowed to undertake mass deportations of illegal migrants across the US. “It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment … right?” said Johnston, referring to the famous caught-on-video showdown between a Chinese student and...

Migrants tied to criminality, sex traffickers, and fraudsters have used President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s parole pipeline to get into the United States, a bombshell interim staff report from the House Judiciary Committee reveals. The report details the fraud and abuse plaguing the administration’s CHNV program — designed to get Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans into the U.S. by having them bypass the southern border and, instead, fly into domestic airports.
