Monday of week 29 in Ordinary Time Bridlington Priory, UKReadings at MassLiturgical Colour: Green. Year: B(II).First readingEphesians 2:1-10Sinners are saved in Christ JesusYou were dead through the crimes and the sins in which you used to live when you were following the way of this world, obeying the ruler who governs the air, the spirit who is at work in the rebellious. We all were among them too in the past, living sensual lives, ruled entirely by our own physical desires and our own ideas; so that by nature we were as much under God’s anger as the rest...

Jake Tapper's obsession got so strange that Mike Johnson had to implore Tapper to stop it . . . On the Sunday edition of CNN's State of the Union, host Tapper couldn't stop talking about . . . Arnold Palmer's penis. Yes, Trump had alluded to it during a rally in the late, great golfer's hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. But Tapper was absolutely obsessed with it, and wouldn't stop peppering Speaker Johnson on the subject. Trying to move onto policy, Johnson wryly observed, "Jake, you seem to like that line a lot!”Get the rest of the story and view the...

We are now at the Trump-is-worse-than Hitler stage of the Kamala Harris campaign, with just over two weeks until Election Day. That’s the word from The Atlantic magazine, where CIA cipher Anne Applebaum wrote another hilarious anti-Trump diatribe last week titled “Trump Is Speaking Like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini.” The Atlantic has dedicated itself to destroying Donald Trump and all his works since it was bought by Laurene Jobs, the billionaire widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, who just happens to be one of VP Kamala’s best friends, and who helped mobilize fellow Democrat donors to topple Joe Biden after...

romineustadt (10.20.24): Shirel Golan, a Nova survivor, ended her life today because monsters extinguished her light a year ago. May her memory be a blessing. And may we shine our light and share our love so abundantly in her honor. https://www.instagram.com/romineustadt/p/DBXL_wiz2-s/ jewishlivesmatter (10.20.24): Shirel Golan, a survivor of the Nova Party massacre on October 7th, took her life today, on her 22nd birthday. Her passing is a painful reminder of the unseen wounds so many carry after that tragic day. The trauma of that tragic day lingers to this day, leaving scars that aren’t always visible. PTSD is a silent...

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Christ paid a debt He did not owe to free us from a debt we could not pay. In the scientific realm there are universal laws, such as the law of gravity. These laws are built into the creation by its all-wise Creator and keep it functioning normally. Just as God has made inexorable laws to govern the physical dimension, so also has He decreed universal spiritual principles. The most significant of those spiritual laws is that...

The International Monetary Fund's latest fiscal monitor report has predicted that the global public debt will surpass $100 trillion this year. The report stated that the debt margin will reach 93% of global GDP by 2030, exceeding its 99% peak during COVID-19 driven by intense spending pressures and sluggish economic growth. The figures are projected to reach 93% of global gross domestic product by the end of 2024 and approach 100% by 2030, IMF said in its fiscal monitor report released Tuesday.

Elon Musk said Sunday he planned to upgrade his security after a left-wing German magazine labeled him an enemy of the people. Musk held a town hall discussion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday in support of former President Donald Trump’s candidacy. While talking to the crowd, Musk commented on the heightened political atmosphere as the nation approached the November presidential election. He noted he was recently on the cover of Der Spiegel, which labeled him “Public Enemy No. 2” — the first being Trump. “I’m like, enemy number 2 of what? Uh, democracy? I mean I’m pro-democracy. I’m literally trying...

New research has revealed that the connection between per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, and kidney damage may be tied to dysregulation of the gut microbiome, which is made up of bacteria and other microorganisms that live in the digestive tract. They found that increased PFAS exposure was associated with worse kidney function four years later, and that changes in the gut microbiome and related metabolites explained up to 50% of that decrease in function. The researchers analyzed data from 78 participants, ages 17 to 22, enrolled in the Southern California Children's Health Study, a large-scale longitudinal effort to understand...

Several Black male celebrities have announced their support for the Republican presidential nominee, former President Trump. With only a few weeks until election day, the Harris campaign sees itself struggling with Black men as Trump is making gains with the group who are traditionally some of the Democratic Party's most reliable supporters. According to a New York Times/Siena College poll released last week, Harris currently holds 78% of the Black vote, which is down from 2020, when President Biden won approximately 90% of that voting bloc. It's also down from 2016, when Hillary Clinton won approximately 92% of the Black...

Silver prices soared by over 6% yesterday, breaking through the crucial $33.6 per ounce mark and sending shockwaves through global markets. The surge has put five major U.S. banks at risk of massive losses, potentially in the billions, due to their heavy short positions in the precious metal. According to data from the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the open interest in silver futures contracts has reached a staggering 141,580 contracts, each representing 5,000 ounces of silver. This translates to a total of 707,900,000 ounces – nearly equivalent to a year's worth of global silver production.

A new discovery about how the liver flushes cholesterol from the body could lead to more effective treatments for cardiovascular disease—the leading cause of death worldwide. Researchers have found that the production of bile, which is vital for flushing excess cholesterol from the body, is affected by the rate blood flows into the liver via the "portal" vein from the intestine. Previous research has shown that blood flow in the portal vein increases and decreases throughout the day in response to movement, rest, and intake of foods. The Leeds team has now identified that bile production increases when blood flow...

Kamala Harris entered the final full month of the US presidential election campaign vastly outspending Donald Trump, as both candidates put tens of millions of dollars into television ads ahead of the Nov. 5 contest, according to financial disclosures filed on Sunday. The campaigns are racing the final stretch of an extremely tight presidential contest, with many polls showing the two candidates neck-and-neck, including in battleground states that could determine the winner. She disclosed to the Federal Election Commission spending of $270 million last month, largely on ads. Former Republican President Trump's similarly ad-dominated spending totaled $78 million during the...

I've gotten over the "turn the other cheek" approach when it comes to dealing with Marxists I am somehow still friendly with. I used to find self-respect in my belief that I was open-minded enough to hobnob with people who have differing political viewpoints. I'm over that now. The political views that once divided us were usually, at least, Constitutional. Today, a huge chunk of the nation is happy to vote for a party that has: been busted spying on the Trump campaign censored Americans who think for themselves allowed a Chinese spy balloon to fly over our military bases...
