According to a Live Science report, a 13-year-old hiker discovered a greenish ring estimated to be about 1,800 years old at Khirbet Shalala, an archaeological site in northern Israel. "It was corroded, and at first, I thought it was just a rusty bolt," said teen Yair Whiteson. The boy's family then got in touch with the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA). Eitan Klein of the IAA said that the ring is thought to be made of bronze and is engraved with an image of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, war, and military strategy. She is shown wearing a helmet and...

Newsweek reports that researchers from the Margulan Institute of Archaeology have discovered a face carved into a granite boulder at the top of a rocky outcrop in central Kazakhstan. The carving measures about ten inches long by eight inches wide, with well-preserved eyes, nose, and lips. A collapsed stone stele measuring more than six feet long and three feet wide was found nearby. It had been carved on one side with an image of a deer with large antlers. Archaeologist Sergey Yarygin said that the carved face and the stela are similar to others found at Bronze Age sites in...

West Texas crude jumped in price Wednesday by more than $3 per barrel to about $78, a more than 4 percent increase. Israel has not taken responsibility for the strike, though the country’s military vowed to eliminate Hamas and its leaders in the...

The classic 2010 essay in which I called for what became "Make America Great Again", and explained why it was necessary. he left often says (though perhaps not in quite these words) that when the Cold War ended Republicans lost their metanarrative. Republicans reflexively deny this, since the implication is that we have no raison d’etre, and that America can and ought now get about the work of building the secular democratic socialist workers paradise since there’s no one left to kill us (if there ever was before). …. “It is common sense that if jobs are flowing to China...

A prominent, nationally recognized legal team that has represented former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis ever since she was attacked by LGBT radicals for following her biblical beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman is reporting a new round of death threats against the Christian champion. "Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel need your prayers for protection. Hateful LGBTQ adherents are back at it with death threats. Just one example reveals the evil in the hearts of those people: Kim's husband answered a phone call. The angry caller threatened he would tie up Kim's husband while he raped...

Former President Donald Trump launched a racially insensitive attack against presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris on Wednesday, falsely questioning her racial background in a contentious appearance in Chicago. During a panel discussion at the conference of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Republican nominee for president said his opponent for the White House "happened to turn Black" a number of years ago. Asked about some Republicans labeling Harris as a "DEI hire," Trump, after bickering with ABC's Rachel Scott over the definition of DEI, responded: "I've known [Harris] a long time indirectly, not directly, very much. And she was...

A declassified FBI document confirms longstanding suspicions of the agency's active involvement with Patriot Front for years. With 950 pages of details (heavily redacted), it’s evident that numerous federal assets are deeply embedded within the organization. Interestingly, the group's only documented criminal activity appears to be the illegal placement of posters on public and private property. I'll post links to the FBI's documents (again, not terribly interesting given the fact they've been heavily redacted).

Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris has still not held a single press conference ten days after President Joe Biden dropped out of the election and said she would take his place. After Biden ended his reelection campaign and knighted Harris as his successor on July 21, the vice president was granted numerous endorsements from Democrat leaders, including former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and several blue-state governors, such as Gavin Newsom (CA), Josh Shapiro (PA), and J.B Pritzker (IL). As Harris has become the presumptive nominee without receiving a single primary vote, she leaves...

U.S. District Judge Peter Sheridan's 69-page opinion says he was compelled to rule as he did because of the Supreme Court's rulings in firearms cases, particularly the 2022 Bruen decision that expanded gun rights. Sheridan's ruling left both 2nd Amendment advocates and the state attorney general planning appeals. The judge temporarily delayed the order for 30 days. Pointing to the high court's precedents, Sheridan suggested Congress and the president could do more to curb gun-related violence nationwide. “It is hard to accept the Supreme Court’s pronouncements that certain firearms policy choices are ‘off the table’ when frequently, radical individuals possess...

In the wake of the horrific rocketing of a playground in which dozens of Israeli children were killed and wounded, the IDF quickly and decisively meted out justice upon Hezbollah with a strike in Beirut that killed high-ranking Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr. While the IDF is to be congratulated for its successful operation to eliminate this jihadist, the incident raises serious questions about America’s commitment to bringing terrorists to justice.Israel was able to locate, plan and successfully execute the targeted killing of Shukr, second in command of the Lebanese terrorist organization, within days of the playground attack. Those who pay attention to...

Explanation: What is creating these unusual spots? Light-colored spots on Martian rocks, each surrounded by a dark border, were discovered earlier this month by NASA's Perseverance Rover currently exploring Mars. Dubbed leopard spots because of their seemingly similarity to markings on famous Earth-bound predators, these curious patterns are being studied with the possibility they were created by ancient Martian life. The pictured spots measure only millimeters across and were discovered on a larger rock named Cheyava Falls. The exciting but unproven speculation is that long ago, microbes generated energy with chemical reactions that turned rock from red to white while...
