In the wake of the horrific rocketing of a playground in which dozens of Israeli children were killed and wounded, the IDF quickly and decisively meted out justice upon Hezbollah with a strike in Beirut that killed high-ranking Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr.
While the IDF is to be congratulated for its successful operation to eliminate this jihadist, the incident raises serious questions about America’s commitment to bringing terrorists to justice.
Israel was able to locate, plan and successfully execute the targeted killing of Shukr, second in command of the Lebanese terrorist organization, within days of the playground attack.
Those who pay attention to such things couldn’t help but recall that Shukr was on America’s list of most wanted terrorists in the so-called “Rewards for Justice” program:
In fact the US was offering a $5 million reward for information on Shukr:

Astute FReepers already raised this same question this morning.
Fuad FOAD.
Israel also killed his mistress, and two children. The U.S. might (under Trump) take him out, but never bystanders or third parties.
Our government in America is a hostile and occupying force intent on destroying “legacy” Americans. We have been conquered and nobody in power, the back-stabbing GOP included, has seen fit to tell us.
Many reasons. Israel had the assets in place while the issue was still white hot and executed their plan, along with the terrorists.
The resolve just isn't there for the U.S. government, either. That is, unless you're not a drooling dem voter, which in that case the U.S. government will turn its attention to you, comrade.
So the US should bomb places in Lebanon?
We’d probably take out a daycare center.
“ In fact the US was offering a $5 million reward for information on Shukr:”
Send the check do it now
The IDF has info he’s dead a doornail. Send the money
Have you been crying all day?
“Israel also killed his mistress, and two children.”
Good. I hope they killed his pet goat, too.
“The U.S. might (under Trump) take him out, but never bystanders or third parties.”
Wrong. We do it all the time. Heck, we even kill American citizens living overseas who haven’t been charged with a single crime.

His entire family is fair game. His "children" are in their 40s and 50s. And you think Trump would say no to the architect of the 1983 Marine attack if a few others in his circle would be harmed? Not a chance.
This is utterly stupid. Since when are the Rules of Engagement for war wrapped as a “Play nice” package? If Truman hadn’t dropped the Atom Bomb on Japan, we’d still be fighting them door-to-door. Politicians started managing the wars during the Korean Conflict and we haven’t won one since. Get the politicians the hell out of the ROE setting and let the professionals run the war. If they have to be fought, short wars are better than long wars...it saves lives on both sides. Time to kick some a$$ and end this conflict.
A $5 million dollar reward? The Israeli’s were obviously offering more than that... Israeli Crime Stoppers... 1-800-KILL-ARAB. Somebody’s a little bit richer today and the world is that much safer.
The good news... If the Israeli’s are killing ‘moderate’ terrorist, the hardcore dudes can obviously kiss their, and their families *sses good bye.
The U.S. might (under Trump) take him out, but never bystanders or third parties.

Because the US has not relearned how to play hard ball. The US understood how in WWII, but quickly forgot. The Israelis never forgot.
This is what happens in war. And I'm fresh out of give-a-damns.
I'm still waiting for the hostages to be released safe and unharmed …
The US is no longer about justice.
With our current government, I’m surprised they didn’t offer these terrorists amnesty and citizenship, brought over on a privately chartered flight.
>> The U.S. might (under Trump) take him out, but never bystanders or third parties.
Didn’t US (under Biden) wipe out the whole family of an aid worker in the disgraceful bugout from Afghanistan?
I don’t think concern for innocents gets in their way much. Unless the innocents are members of a protected class, like queers or non-whites.
Then the blame is laid squarely on the islamists.
Keep n\their families out of harms way and don’t use them as human shields.
There is no justice in the united states.
