Explanation: Dark markings and bright nebulae in this telescopic southern sky view are telltale signs of young stars and active star formation. They lie a mere 650 light-years away, at the boundary of the local bubble and the Chamaeleon molecular cloud complex. Regions with young stars identified as dusty reflection nebulae from the 1946 Cederblad catalog include the C-shaped Ced 110 just above and right of center, and bluish Ced 111 below it. Also a standout in the frame, the orange tinted V-shape of the Chamaeleon Infrared Nebula (Cha IRN) was carved by material streaming from a newly formed low-mass...

I haven’t been a sports fan for many years, partly because I don’t have time to keep up with the world of sports and partly because I have zero tolerance for the unsportsmanlike conduct that has come to characterize, if not dominate, it. And yet I am fast becoming FrontPageMag’s resident sports reporter: fresh off my defense of NFL kicker Harrison Butker for giving a commencement speech that championed traditional values and sent the media into an apoplectic fit, here I am about to leap to the defense of another athlete who is drawing petty media fire for nothing more...

Against the backdrop of continuing Russian advances, some Western leaders have started to advocate missile strikes inside Russian territory, from NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg up to chief warmonger, former British Premier Boris Johnson: Now, some European neighboring countries have started preparing to introduce their troops into Ukraine in case of strategic Russian advances in Eastern Ukraine. The Baltic states and Poland have warned Germany that they could send troops to Ukraine if the situation gets noticeably worse for Kiev due to its allies being reluctant to supply it with weapons.

The House GOP effort to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress is in limbo, with Republicans unsure whether they have the votes to pass the measure. Two committees last week easily passed resolutions to censure Garland, and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has since projected confidence, saying he expects the measure to pass “handily” once lawmakers return from their weeklong Memorial Day recess. But a source familiar with behind-the-scenes discussions said there are at least two Republican members who have privately said they will not vote for the measure. That’s a problem given the razor-thin House GOP majority, which...

President Biden made a surprise nighttime visit to the Delaware home of Hallie Biden on Sunday — just before she’s due to serve as one of the most important witnesses at first son Hunter Biden’s federal trial for alleged gun crimes. Biden stopped by Hallie’s home around 8 p.m. for a brief private talk eight days before the 54-year-old first son’s trial is scheduled to stand trial beginning June 3. Hallie dated Hunter at the time of his alleged gun crimes and is one of a dozen expected witnesses. Prosecutors allege Hunter lied about his drug use on gun purchase...

After a recent summit between new partners China and Russia, General Secretary Xi Jinping and Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin issued an odd one-sentence communique: “There can be no winners in a nuclear war and it should never be fought.”No one would disagree, even though several officials of both hypocritical governments have previously threatened their neighbors with nuclear attacks. But still, why did the two feel the need to issue such a terse statement — and why now?Rarely has the global rhetoric of mass annihilation reached such a crescendo as the present, as existential wars rage in Ukraine and Gaza.In particular,...

Ahead of the November election, Republicans have forced tough votes on Democrats that may hurt their chances at the polls. From election security to law enforcement to illegal immigration, House Republicans have passed bills that most House Democrats have voted against, despite Americans’ prevalent concerns about those issues. According to the Center Square Voters' Voice Poll, conducted with Noble Predictive Insights in March, when given a range of top concerns, 45% of likely voters said inflation/price increases, 44% said illegal immigration, and 24% said the economy/jobs. The rest of the top 10 issues were abortion rights at 22%, crime/violence at...

The cost of illegal immigration is bearing out in the Big Apple and tourists are the latest to foot the bill. New York City is more expensive than ever to visit, primarily due to Mayor Eric Adams (D) converting tons of hotels into shelters for newly arrived migrants, the New York Times reported Saturday. As Breitbart News has chronicled, Adams currently has about 65,000 migrants living in more than 16,500 hotel rooms across New York City. The result has been skyrocketing hotel room costs for tourists who pay the price while hotels, often owned by the largest conglomerates, are raking...

This is not Quiverfull, the fundamentalist Christian belief that large families are a blessing from God. The Collinses are atheists; they believe in science and data, studies and research. Every decision the Collinses make is backed by data. “Nominative determinism is a heavily studied field,” Malcolm tells me, when I ask about his children’s names. “Girls that have...

Last week's episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce received quite a bit of attention (even for arguably the most famous siblings in sports right now). There has been some backlash to both brothers from a portion of the population who believe they should have thrown their weight behind Butker wholeheartedly. Jason spoke out towards that audience on Monday morning via his X (formerly Twitter) account. Specifically against those who are calling his wife, Kylie, a "homemaker" and because of that he should support Butker. The tweet is below, along with a full transcription: “Responding to...

Cristina Laila reported on this communication earlier – Now we know Joe and Hunter were using Sandy Hook as a decoy to meet with a Chinese business leader. Hunter Biden proposed a meeting...

President Biden is facing an American public that trusts his top political rival far more on inflation and economic matters, issues that are likely to loom large in voters’ minds at the ballot booth in November. A poll released last week from the Cook Political Report, conducted with Democratic and Republican strategy firms, showed that likely voters across seven “swing states” overwhelmingly disapprove of the job Biden is doing on the economy.

KYIV (Reuters) -A Ukrainian drone targeted a long-range radar deep inside Russia on Sunday, the second such strike in a week on infrastructure used by Moscow to monitor Ukraine’s military activities, a Kyiv intelligence source said. The source said the strike was aimed at a “Voronezh M” radar near the city of Orsk in the Orenburg region some 1,500 km from the closest territory held by Kyiv’s forces. The source, who declined to be named, did not say if there was any damage, but the move would make it one of the deepest attempted drone strikes in Russian territory since...
