Last week we said that 'apparently' our merchant services company that we've used for 28 years or so has either merged with or has been bought out by another company and now we can confirm that yes, there was a merger and the new company has canceled our merchant account. We submitted an application for a new account, and that has been turned down. We're now in the process of submitting an application with another provider. We won't know until next week of the status. So please hang in there with us! We will get this done.

For the time being, we will not be able to accept credit card donations, but our PayPal system still works, and of course mail-in donations still work fine.

By the way, it seems you don't need to have a PayPal account to use this feature. You can also donate by debit or credit card on the PayPal page.

Excessive ‘card testers’ or international fraudsters who buy and sell lists of stolen credit cards. They test them on sites like Free Republic to see if they are good numbers.

Please note that PayPal has announced that will begin selling users purchase information, unless you opt out, by Nov 27.

The info was in the latest changes to PayPals privacy statement changed.

We all got it and promptly sent it to the trash. But it exists and we need to opt out.

Residents of CA and two other states are automatic opt outs, you you are safe in California.
