A staff member at Vardag's accidentally opened the file of a couple referred to in court papers as Mr and Mrs Williams, when trying to apply for a final divorce order for a different client. Vardag's applied three days later to rescind the order but judge Sir Andrew McFarlane dismissed the application. The firm's head Ayesha Vardag said the judge's decision effectively meant "the computer says no, you're divorced". Court papers say that Mrs Williams applied for divorce in January 2023 following 21 years of marriage. The mistake was made by solicitors acting for Mrs Williams on 3 October last...

An illegal migrant accused of the rape of a child under 16 in Massachusetts was finally arrested by immigration authorities after a local district court ignored a request to detain him. The Boston ERO (Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations) has often been critical of the state's various liberal municipalities for allowing migrants convicted of repulsive crimes to go free despite their requests to keep them detained amid one of the largest migrant crises in US history. The unnamed 20-year-old, a Brazilian national, was arrested by Border Patrol on July 28, 2021 after he and his mother entered the US...

“When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son!’” (John 19:26). No matter what trials we have, it is still possible to be concerned for others’ needs. As the time for Jesus’ death grew closer, His mother’s well-being was on His heart and mind. His concern is consistent with what we have already seen in our brief study of some of Jesus’ last words on the cross—our Lord was faithful in ministry no matter what the cost. Here the object of Jesus’ focus shifted to a...

David Hughes, the president and CEO of C̶h̶u̶r̶c̶h̶ Goat Farm by the Glades in Coral Springs, Florida, has successfully turned the organization into a highly profitable carnival act. Rather than providing spiritual sustenance through the gospel, Hughes is preoccupied with putting on a spectacle. Week after week, we have reported that this church, which remains in fellowship with the Southern Baptist Convention and the powers that be, blasphemes God with its worldly performances and secular music. This past weekend, Church by the Glades opens a new sermon series on “Family” by worshiping to a popular anthem that is used to...

FIRST ON FOX -- Americans who rely on evening newscasts from ABC, CBS or NBC for information are likely unaware that elected officials going after former President Trump are Democrats, according to a new study from the Media Research Center. "The network coverage of the Trump prosecutions routinely and fraudulently implies that they are nonpartisan public officials. It’s Trump versus the New York Attorney General, or the Manhattan District Attorney. They’re not just Democrats, they’re elected Democrats, building a career on taking down Trump. Leaving that out of the story is irresponsible," NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham told Fox News...

City urged to work harder to assess cost, impactOver the past three years, San Jose has failed to consistently track the more than $300 million spent to fight homelessness and cannot adequately ensure that the money is helping to alleviate the crisis, according to a much-anticipated state audit. The financial audit, released this week by the California State Auditor, also found that San Jose lacks clear goals for its homelessness programs and has no cohesive plan for building the affordable housing needed for its estimated 6,340 homeless residents. “The biggest conclusion that the auditors came back with is that there’s...

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley appeared on FOX News on Monday and explained why Trump is not likely to get a fair trial in New York. The trial has entered the jury selection phase and this is key, according to Turley. He suggests that even if the court tries to find jurors who don’t dislike Trump, that Trump haters will lie just to get on the jury. The people who are going after Trump know this. In fact, they’re probably counting on it. Transcript via Real Clear Politics:

Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Major General Hossein Salami. Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), on Sunday insisted he had received reports showing that part of the weapons fired by the force toward Israel had directly hit their targets, IRNA reported. “Our information on all of the hits is not complete yet but on that part of the hits that we have accurate, documented, and field-related reports show that this operation has been carried out with a success that exceeded the expectation,” Salami said.

Atlanta News First reports that Atlanta taxpayers endured extensive queues outside the city’s Tax Assistance Center, but not everyone was looking for last-minute help from the IRS ahead of the April 15 tax filing deadline. The center was open Saturday with extended hours, allowed individuals to engage directly with IRS representatives regarding their refunds, but the demand to do so led to hours-long waits under the sun. A majority of the people in line had received an email or letter from the IRS stating they had to verify their identity in person. The notification went on to say their refund...

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) unveiled a gambit to burst a legislative logjam and unleash a four-vote flood including a standalone vote on tens of billions in American taxpayer aid to Ukraine. The plan appears to exploit the sense of urgency in Congress for sending aid to Israel in the wake of Iranian missile attacks in a scheme to bypass Republican animosity towards continuing to fund Ukraine’s war against Russia. Johnson unveiled his plan to his colleagues during a Monday night House Republican Conference meeting. His plan is to hold a single vote on a rule — the product specifying which...

Biden’s meeting with the Iraqi PM comes a couple of days after Iran attacked Israel with drone and missile strikes. “Our partnership is pivotal for our nations, the Middle East and the world,” said Biden. Biden took a victory lap after Iran attacked Israel. “In the 36 hours since, we have been coordinating a diplomatic response to seek to prevent escalation,” Biden said slurring his words. “Strength and wisdom need to be different sides of the same coin.” He continued slurring, “As you know, Iran launched an unprecedented aerial attack against Israel and we mounted an unprecedented military effort to...

Remember when President Joe Biden tried to quote the Declaration of Independence? "We hold these truths to be self-evident: all men and women created by -go- you know - you know the thing." That was his stutter. All the times he's lied about his son being killed in Iraq? That's his stutter too. Getting arrested trying to visit Nelson Mandela? His stutter. Those times when he just freezes up like his brain is rebooting? That is his stutter. We hear a lot about Biden's lifelong stutter, even though it's noticeably absent from footage of him as a senator and as...

April 15 is usually Tax Day in the United States – the day by which your individual federal tax return has to have been filed, if you’re to avoid a late penalty. And if you’re in one of the many states with its own statewide income tax – 43 at last count – that usually shares the same deadline. By what right does the government take this money from us? That’s an easy one. The Constitution says it can. To be specific, the 16th Amendment authorized the federal government to collect income taxes, so it’s been legal for 110 years....

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign “plans to spend every day until November 5” hammering the issue of abortion and painting former President Donald Trump and Republicans as extreme, the Washington Post reported. Biden campaign officials reportedly see abortion as a “potential silver bullet” and hope the issue will “mobilize their core voters, bring disaffected voters back into the fold, and make inroads with voters whom Democrats have often struggled to win,” White House reporter Tyler Pager wrote, noting that the tactic comes as many Americans are worried about Biden’s age and inflation, which “threatens to hurt his reelection.” "There is...
