We see the polls, which say President Trump is ahead. We also know our history, the history of the American electorate often voting against their own interest, and we know of the corrupt political machines famous for fabricating votes and stealing elections. MSNBC host Joy Reid said Monday on her network’s coverage of former President Donald Trump’s trial that it was “wonderfully poetic” the prosecutors in several of the cases against former President Donald Trump are black. Reid said, “Donald Trump is at this point outdoing actual mobsters in his attacks on the judge’s family, the daughter. And he’s doing it to the point that Lawrence made, he knows he will never spend a day, a second, a moment in prison. But for me, there is something wonderfully poetic about the fact that despite the fact that even if convicted, he’s not...

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, 75, sparked raised eyebrows over his whereabouts when he was absent during oral arguments on Monday, and the Court provided no explanation why. Addressing Thomas' lack of presence, Chief Justice John Roberts said simply that Thomas "is not on the bench today" but would "participate fully" in the two cases being argued based on the briefs and transcripts, according to NBC News' Lawrence Hurley. "Context that may or may not be helpful: In the recent past, Justice Thomas phoned into oral arguments when he couldn't attend in person, allowing him to ask questions remotely. He...

As Major League Baseball celebrates Jackie Robinson and his pioneering contributions to the game, I can’t help but think about the fact that the league is reporting a historically low number of Black American players in its ranks: only 6%. I think this is a teachable moment at a time when diversity efforts across various arenas (no pun intended) have come under attack. Major League Baseball, unfortunately, is a prime example of what it looks like to talk the talk without always walking the walk.

San Francisco has long been feared to be falling into a doom loop, a situation where taxpayers leaving the crime-ridden city results in lower tax revenues leading to cuts in services and rising taxes, making it even less desirable to live in. It can be especially devastating when a community's essential businesses, such as grocery stores, decide to leave. San Francisco experienced this last year when Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)-owned Whole Foods Market Inc. shut down its flagship store in the city after being open for just over a year, citing employee safety concerns. Nearly 570 emergency calls were reported from...

Nut Zero strikes again. The German Transport Minister is bowing to the inevitable: Net Zero laws in Germany must be changed. Unless they are, driving on weekends will have to be banned. Germans were warned weekend driving may be banned to meet 'net zero ' targets.A corresponding reduction in traffic performance would only be possible through restrictive measures that are difficult to communicate to the population, such as nationwide and indefinite driving bans on… pic.twitter.com/U6i3rdZ9Na— Steve Milloy (@JunkScience) April 15, 2024Volker Wissing, a member of the minority Free Democratic Party--a center/center-right party in Germany that often holds the balance of...

Colorado House Democrats passed “assault weapons” ban legislation Sunday to prohibit the sale of AR-15s and certain 9mm pistols. On March 20, 2024, Breitbart News reported that the legislation, HB24-1292, bans 9mm pistols that have threaded barrels and accept a detachable magazine. Moreover, the text of HB24-1292 makes clear that a semiautomatic handgun of any caliber would be banned if it takes a detachable magazine and has a threaded barrel.

FRENCH president Emmanuel Macron has admitted the Olympics opening ceremony could be cut back amid fears of an ISIS attack. He revealed today that the sporting celebration might be shifted from the River Seine to the national stadium following the death cult's slew of vile threats. Instead of teams sailing down the Seine on barges, Macron stated July's showpiece event could be "limited to the Trocadéro" or "even moved to the Stade de France" as a "precaution". "We will analyse this in real time," Macron said, adding that it was dependent on the scale of the security threat. The move...

The bridge collapse in Baltimore has ground many businesses to a halt, leaving municipal leaders scrambling to figure out what the next steps should be. But that's not the only thing collapsing in Charm City. After years of planning and adjustments, the Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore is also launching some major adjustments. In what is being described as a "retooling of operations," the Catholic Church is preparing to consolidate the number of parishes in the city and the surrounding suburbs from 61 to 21. In other words, there will be barely one-third the number of worship centers for Catholics in...

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said that it took “a lot of skill” and “probably some luck” to shoot down Iranian missiles and drones and “We could easily be dealing with dozens, if not hundreds, of dead Israelis today.” But “It certainly appears that the way in which Iran conducted this strike was telegraphing the fact that it does not want to be engaged in a deeper, bloodier, long-term conflict.”

We reported how about the prior communication that the U.S. had allegedly received prior to Iran's attack on Israel, and it's been building into a real problem for them. I wrote Sunday morning on an NBC report that the Islamic Republic and the United States communicated about the matter for over two weeks: In back-channel communications with the U.S. over the past two weeks, Iran indicated it would retaliate against Israel but wanted to avoid an escalation that would lead to all-out war, U.S. officials said. The question now is whether Iran’s attack will be interpreted in the way Tehran has...

The US Supreme Court on Monday ruled that Idaho can enforce its ban on sex changes for children. Healthcare professionals can face up to 10 years in prison for mutilating children or providing puberty blockers to them. In December Judge Lynn Winmill, a Clinton appointee, ruled that Idaho could not enforce the transgender ban while the lawsuit by two plaintiffs made its way through the courts. The US Supreme Court 6-3 granted an emergency request filed by Idaho’s Attorney General. Idaho previously enacted the Vulnerable Child Protection Act which protected children from dangerous puberty blockers and procedures that remove body...

Iran’s Saturday attack against Israel has the airwaves and interwebs abuzz with speculation as to what is coming next in Middle Eastern geopolitics. Some have expressed fears that the situation could escalate into expanded military hostilities in the region. As the war in Gaza continues in full force, Iran’s potential involvement has led to fears of a broader military conflict. Indeed, Germany and France have issued statements urging their citizens in Iran to flee the country amid concerns over an Israeli counterstrike. However, there could be reason for hope that this situation won’t devolve into a hot war between Israel...

Today was the first day of the ‘hush money’ trial in New York, and President Trump has already made an interesting, calculated move. In an unusual maneuver, Trump is requesting to personally join sidebar discussions. Typically, these are private, off-the record conversations between the judge and attorneys. They often contain sensitive or intimate information that they don’t want the jury or public to hear. CNN had this to say about sidebars during the hush money trial: The historic trial of former President Donald Trump is expected to include a lot of objections and sidebars, sources told CNN chief legal affairs...

Yet another leftist media outlet may be on the brink of collapse. The Intercept, which was founded by left-libertarian journalist Glenn Greenwald back in 2014, is said to be in serious financial difficulty amid an escalating power struggle between warring factions.
