The Treasury Department has admitted that it helped law enforcement catch people involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach by urging banks to comb through the private transactions of customers using terms like “MAGA” and “Trump” as part of a surveillance scheme intended to fight money launderers but used to hunt Jan. 6-ers.In January, The Epoch Times reported on allegations that the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)—the U.S. Treasury Department’s financial crime-fighting unit—was accused of engaging in “pervasive financial surveillance” by circulating materials to banks that listed keywords that could be used to flag private financial transactions of potential Jan....

A new study examining the likely impact that fraudulent mail-in ballots had in the 2020 election concludes that the outcome would “almost certainly” have been different without the massive expansion of voting by mail. The Heartland Institute study tried to gauge the probable impact that fraudulent mail-in ballots cast for both then-candidate Joe Biden and his opponent, President Donald Trump, would have had on the overall 2020 election results. The study was based on data obtained from a Heartland/Rasmussen survey in December that revealed that roughly one in five mail-in voters admitted to potentially fraudulent actions in the presidential election. After the researchers...

We've had a couple of days to digest that damning classified documents investigation report and the Biden administration's disaster of a response to it. This morning I did some browsing around to try to determine where the dust is settling in terms of the White House, the Democrats, the GOP, the media, and even foreign countries. Karen already picked apart what the Biden team's response has been thus far and what will likely happen going forward. That will mostly be nothing aside from optics and cosmetic attempts (in some cases literally) at getting people to forget about it and go...

Glassbrook Elementary is located in Hayward, California which is south of Oakland on the east side of the San Francisco Bay. The school has just under 500 students and lately it has been struggling with falling test scores. But that didn't stop the school from signing a $250,000, three-year contract with a company called "Woke Kindergarden" which, as the name suggests, provides training to teachers (but not to students in this case) on how to fight white supremacy. One teacher at the school, whose name is Tiger Craven-Neeley, felt the expense wasn't justified under the circumstances. Funding for the Woke...

We previously reported that there may be some big issues coming for "Squad" member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) in this election. As we noted, both she and her fellow "Squad" member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) were being outraised by their more moderate, Democrat challengers. Seems people are not necessarily big fans of extremists. Her principal opponent, Wesley Bell, said he was honored by the support and drew a sharp contrast between himself and Bush. In a statement to the Hill, Bell said:Missouri’s 1st District deserves a representative who shows up, does the work and gets things done. I’m honored by...

We’ve known that Hamas operates in hospitals and schools in Gaza, despite their heated denials. We've also known about the extensive terror tunnel network under the Strip, where they store weapons, hide hostages, and plan attacks. But a new find by the Israel Defense Forces is even more troubling – Hamas has been operating a sophisticated data center directly beneath the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), complete with an electrical room, industrial battery power banks, and living quarters for Hamas terrorists overseeing the computer operations. This is far from the first time the UNRWA has come under scrutiny:See: New Report...

As far as folk songs are concerned, few have enjoyed the success or longevity of ‘The House of the Rising Sun’. First popularised by The Animals, who topped singles charts in the UK, US and Canada with their rendition in 1964, a wide range of artists from Alt-J to Five Finger Death Punch have recorded versions of the track over the years. A traditional narrative folk song, ‘House of the Rising Sun’ tells the tale of a place in New Orleans, usually theorised to be either a pub or a brothel, which acts as the catalysts for a young man’s...

Experimental cinema regularly throws up offbeat delights that have a great deal more going on under the surface than it appears at first glance, with writer and director György Pálfi stoking the flames of discussion and debate when Hukkle hit the festival circuit in 2022. Made on a minimal budget, running for just 78 minutes, and using almost no dialogue, the broadest way to describe the film is that it unfolds in a small rural community in the filmmaker’s native Hungary, with an old man suffering from a bad bout of hiccups serving as the catalyst for the story. What...

One of the most unexpected legacies generated by The Simpsons is the repeated insistences in which the creative team have some form of clairvoyancy, with so many real-world events appearing to be predicted well ahead of time by Springfield’s most famous family. With that in mind, it was inevitable that an episode removed from the airwaves in the aftermath of the September 11th terror attacks gave rise to a predictive conspiracy theory, even if it was nothing more than a matter of coincidence and a show of respect. The first episode of the ninth season, ‘The City of New York...

An Orange County teenager is hospitalized after suddenly falling ill with a rare heart condition that some doctors say has been increasingly affecting young men. Nolan Yearout, an athletic 15-year-old student at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, was feeling good one day before he fell gravely ill. He was later diagnosed with myocarditis, a rare and serious condition that involves inflammation of a muscular layer of the heart wall. Nolan’s heart was failing fast — he entered the ICU three weeks ago and was on life support at one point. ... Dr. Omid Fatemi, a cardiologist with St. John’s...

U.S. President Jordan Lyman (Fredric March) hopes to bring an end to the Cold War by signing a nuclear disarmament treaty with the Soviets, much to the displeasure of the hawkish General James Scott (Burt Lancaster), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. When Scott's aide, Martin "Jiggs" Casey (Kirk Douglas) stumbles on shattering evidence that the General is plotting a coup to overthrow Lyman in seven days, "Jiggs" alerts the President, setting off a dangerous race to thwart the takeover.

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton said she believes President Biden’s age is a “legitimate” campaign issue even as the commander-in-chief is under fire over a damning special counsel’s report accusing him of being senile. “I talked to people in the White House all the time, and you know, they know it’s an issue, but as I like to say, ‘look, it’s a legitimate issue,’” Clinton told MSNBC’s Alex Wagner earlier this week. “It’s a legitimate issue for [ex-President Donald] Trump who’s only three years younger, right? So it’s an issue.” The former Democrat presidential nominee and secretary of state also...

Few chords possess the ability to encapsulate an entire genre and ethos. Yet, the power chord, with its primal simplicity, stands as a testament to the enduring essence of punk and rock music. Across generations, musicians have wielded this indispensable tool, shaping and propelling the instinctual force that drives the very heart of musical expression. The origins of the power chord can be traced back to the early days of rock and roll, where guitarists sought to create a louder, more aggressive sound. By simplifying traditional chord structures and focusing on the root note and fifth, musicians discovered a formula...

A MAN threatened to kill the hostess of a barbecue he had been invited to after violence flared over the choice of music being played. Jace Walsh got involved in a fight at the social gathering held at the home of his friends Richard and Lorna Cochrane in Ynysddu, between Blackwood and Risca. The 45-year-old defendant went home and armed himself with a knife after he suffered head injuries in a punch-up with Shane Griffiths, Cardiff Crown Court heard.
